I spent many hours trying to find an organized day tour to see the sights outside of Amsterdam. I was unsuccessful in finding a company that had a tour that would visit all of the sights on my list. I then ran across Rudy’s Taxi Company in my online search. I was thrilled that I was able to customize a day tour of all the places and towns we wanted to see for our group of five. The price was also comparable to what we would have paid per person if we had done an organized day tour, but we did not have to share it with 50 other people or be on a tour company schedule! Katja picked us up in our hotel lobby promptly at the time we had listed. The Mercedes van she used was very clean, comfortable and she had bottles of water waiting for us. We then spent eight hours visiting Keukenhof Gardens, Marken, Monnickendam, Volendam and Zaanse Schans. Katja shared her wealth of knowledge with us at each place and also drove us through other beautiful villages in the area that we did not know of or would have been able to see otherwise. Having Katja as our guide for the day was like being with a longtime friend. She continually asked to make sure we were comfortable and that the tour was going as we wished. You could also tell that she loved her job and enjoyed sharing her country and it’s many different foods with us. I would highly recommend Rudy’s Taxi Company to anyone visiting the Amsterdam area. We will definitely use them again to visit other areas of the Netherlands!

We were 4 adults and we had the best experience with Rudy's Taxi. Rudy and his wife Katja are both experienced tour guides. Day 1 was with Katja giving us a walking tour of the city and she gave us so much information in a friendly way and also made us taste local snacks on the way like Herring and eel. She did not rush us and we felt like we were with a friend.
Next day Rudy drove us through the countryside in his luxurious Mercedes van and we stopped and strolled through many little villages, then went to Markem a beautiful fishing village, we also stopped at dairy farm, wooden shoe factory, Edam, Volendam, Gouda, ka Steel de Haar, Delft, Monikerdam, Nijmegen and the windmills. All in the next two days, driven once by Rudy and once by Katja. On the day we were to board our ship, Rudy picked us up from our hotel and dropped us off at the port even though we asked him to do this last minute.
They are also multilingual and spoke fluent English as well as German and Portuguese. Highly recommend Rudy's Taxi to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

I was visiting Amsterdam at the end of my cruise in May. The driver (not Ruby but I forgot the gentleman's name) picked us up at the cruise stop and provided a great private tour. We visited a wooden shoe factory, waterfront, cheese factory, windmill. Also stopped at a local resturant for lunch (at the tour guide's recommendation).
The tour guide was patience, friendly, helpful, and provided great services. We end the tour at the hotel and decided to take a river boat tour. The tour guide walked us to the ticket booth to ensure we were taken care of, even though the private tour has ended.
Cost wise, it was around $760 USD after tips.

We were 2 couples arriving by cruise ship. One couple had not been to Amsterdam, the other had been several times. Rudy did a great job of blending city highlights with excursions into the countryside. We also did several “off the beaten track” activities including visiting a working windmill, a dairy farm in Gouda to see how the cheese is produced, as well as how wooden shoes are made. A wonderful day.

Katja was waiting for us when we disembarked from our cruise. Although we were limited on time, she took us to visit the Rijks Museum, a tour around the Jewish Quarter and to see a beautiful windmill slightly out of town prior to dropping us off at the airport. She was friendly, accommodating and managed to get all of our luggage in her van. I highly recommend this taxi/tour company.

First, we would like to thank to our driver, Anthony who saved our day in Amsterdam in a wind and ranny day.
We arrived at the Norwegian Cruise port with full of worry due to the bad weather.
But it was completly gone after we were picked up by Anthony. He drove us old town, downtown, country side of Amsterdam and introduced the street market in Amsterdam where we spent our last hours in Amsterdam before depart.
He is very knowledgeble to the background history of where we were guided to. Thank again to ANTHONY our dirver and Rudy's.

We had such a fantastic day of exploring! Our very knowledgeable and friendly guide Robin was very accommodating, professional and provided us with an amazing experience. We got to see quite a bit of the countryside - windmills, tulip fields and beautiful fishing villages. Very picturesque tour! Highly, highly recommended!

I could spend a lot of time rehashing the day, it was a lot and it was a lot of fun. Our guide, Robin was exactly on time to our hotel and was accommodating in every possible way. The truth is there is NO specific places you have to go, you can do anything you want with your day. Robin did a great job of letting us set the pace. He was a great driver, a wealth of information and so personable we just had a great time from the start. So, yes we went to Marken, and Vollendam and the cheese factory and flower gardens but it was our trip and he made sure we knew our time was our own. Anyway, yes it is expensive. But, it was absolutely worth it and is one of the best excursions I ever bought anywhere, not just here. So - go for it.

To call this a taxi service is a misjustice to Rudy! He took our family of 5 on a daylong journey into the true Amsterday, from the island of Marken to the windmills, Rudy was spot on with his commentary and his flexiblility. Would highly recommend him for any excursion you might be planning to Amsterdam!!

Katcha, our guide, was excellent. She was on time, flexible with our schedule and last minute changes. New Mercedes Van was most comfortable. Katcha’s knowledge of the Amsterdam Countryside and culture was very helpful. A great driver, insightful, a real professional. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who is looking for a private guide and transportation in the Amsterdam area.

i assume that they can do whatever you would like but they tend to get booked for the full day's events. i would also say that 4 hours might not get you to the locations - travel time between events is traffic dependent and can be a lot. sounds like rudy is reasonable and can find a way to make it work.
