Voeran our transfer guide was amazing. He told us all the history about iceland and was very knowledgeable. He then linked it to the lava tunnel so we knew all the background information before thing part. The lava tunnel and tour guide in the cave was also good. Over all really enjoyed the experience. Can't wait to come back!

We did our Lavatunnel-Tour in mid January and the entrance of the cave was totally filled with snow. Nevertheless, our guide Ivan was amazing and dug a whole for us to get in. Really an adventure and the cave was also worth seeing !!!

It is not unusual, especially in the mid Icelandic winter, that the enterance gets filled with snow. Then of cause there is only one way to get in and out and that is to dig a hole such as Ivan did. We hope that this only added to the adventure and made the experience even better for you.

We did the lava tunnel tour - we had a great time, the tour guide was informative and friendly, and made sure to keep us safe at all times and ensure that everyone was comfortable. Definitely bring gloves and sturdy clothing, there's a lot of crawling and jagged edges, and you'll need proper shoes. Would really recommend for anyone comfortable with the physicality of it though.

We explored Leiðarendi with this company. I haven’t been in a cave since I was a teenager. I’m now in my late 30s and I found the climb through this cave relatively easy. My six year old sped through the whole thing.
Our tour guide, Bart, was knowledgeable and did a good job directing us. It’s helpful to have a guide for this cave, he was able to point out all the more “difficult” areas. There are a few tight spaces, but the most difficult spots are optional (unless you bring a six year old, my kid decided they were mandatory). None of the right places take more than a minute or so to get through and the pay off to trudging through them is worth it.

My hubby and I went ‘lavatubing’ in Leiðarendi. They call it a cave, but it is actually an old lave tunnel. We booked this trip trough tours.is. The guide we were with provided us with helmets and lights. If you wanted he had gloves (which you deffo need) and extra clothing. Due to the temperature and lack of wind it feels not all too cold and soon you’ll be working up a sweat. The ceiling of the tunnel gets very low on some points, with the lowest being just around 80cm. The tour consist really of 2 parts. The first part has some crawltrough areas, but it is pretty doable. The real low areas are in the 2nd half if the trip. For those who not feel up to go really crawling, there is the possibility to just do the first part. The tour itself is really interesting and the guide we had was very knowledgable. I would really recommend this tour!

You are right, it actually is an thousands of years old lava tunnel. But a lava tunnel is a cave and that is why we call it a cave. Please feel free to google how a lava cave, also known as lava tunnel, is formed for further confirmation. We do provide our customers with helmets and lights though we do not and never have provided our customers with gloves or extra clothing. Perhaps you might be reviewing the wrong company?

We did a combo tour - exploring the Leidarendi Cave and snorkeling in the Silfra. Both parts of the excursion were so much fun! We were so happy that we did the combination tour --There aren't many places in the world where you can explore a lava cave and snorkel in glacier water between the tectonic plates all in one day!
The cave and the river are both close to Reykjavik, which made the trip very convenient and easy. We were picked up near our hotel and dropped off in the same location. It was so nice not to have to rent a car!
Our guides Julian and Natalia were extremely knowledgeable, fun and more than willing to take a million photos of us :)
We highly recommend this tour and Adventure Vikings!!!

We took a group of 20 to do the caving & Snorkeling tour and it was INCREDIBLE. The caving was for all levels and really exciting! It was pretty undersold on how spectacular it was going to be. The Snorkeling was a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget. Our group of 20 left feeling stronger, extremely adventurous, happier, and closer as friends! To be immersed in Icelands beautiful nature with locals all day was really cool. Our tour guides were SO fun, extremely knowledgeable, and just the nicest. It felt like we were all friends by the end of it. Highly recommend this tour and company!
