What a delightful little museum run by such a friendly group of volunteers. Not sure why its taken me so long to visit seeing that I am a Norfolk gal who grew up around sailing and motor boats.
So much to see and do, just as you think you have seen it all, there was another area with more displays.
Information boards spot on as they are not too wordy which is so often a downfall at Museums.
The 4 of us, all Norfolk people loved our couple of hours there so thank you

We, together with our dog spent a very pleasant and informative couple of hours walking around the museum, and then capped the visit off with a 50 minute steam boat trip on the "Falcon".
All staff/volunteers were welcoming and knowledgable, everywhere was clean and tidy and safety on the boat was a very high priority.
We would have no hesitation in recommending a visit to this museum

Staying in area we found this when exploring. Only open Sunday Tues Thur as reliant on volunteers. We explored museum and took details of boat trips. We returned couple of days later and volunteer Alan took us and another couple on an excellent 1 hour trip. He was fun and knowledgeable

It’s great to hear you visited whilst in our lovely county. We hope you enjoyed your holiday. The museum is a fascinating visit and the stories it tells just bring the Broads alive. The boat trip is always worth it and our helms are knowledgable. All of our volunteers are passionate about the museum and really appreciate the feedback. Thanks for taking the time to write this review.

Ideal location and well worth the visit. A good balance of facts to read, an audio guide which can be accessed using the QR codes and also physical artefacts. A very informative and interesting history of the Broads.
The porta cabin toilets outside weren't exactly the most pleasant, but there is an accessible toilet within the museum, which visitors can ask to use if required. There is an area to purchase light refreshments and also a souvenir shop on site.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Highly recommended!

The porta cabin loos are part of the changes we have made for COVID and we are looking at other ways to have a different solution.
Please pop in again and thanks again

This Museum is run by volunteers and they are doing a great job. There is plenty to learn about the history of navigating the broads and the skills that are dying out today. It was an hour well spent. I wish I had booked the boat ride too.

We recently spent a delightful couple of hours at this glorious little museum in Stalham. it is entirely staffed by charming enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers. Despite arriving quite close to closing time we were still able to enjoy a wonderful steam boat ride and be given lots of valuable and interesting information. Bob and Ian were great hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed our all too brief visit to see them. We will return to stay longer and absorb even more! Thank you.

this is a gem of an experience of bygon times on the Broads. All of the volunteers are friendly and extremly informative of all that has gone on on The Broads, the wildlife, the changes and improvements they have seen. A worthy voluntary organisation to lend your support to.

This appealing museum gives a good insight into the historical nature of the Broads. There’s plenty of information and a sufficient number of displays plus various craft to look at. You also have the option to pay for a half hour boat trip. The electric boat we went on is so quiet that the swooping kingfishers probably didn’t even hear us coming.

Hello - we are a very dog friendly museum. Well behaved dogs are very welcome. We have dog parking on our picnic benches, a dog bowl for drink and dogs are also welcome on the steam boat. If they wish for a run around afterwards there is lots of countryside nearby.
