My husband and I went to Italy for the second time this spring. We wanted to make this trip a more unique experience than the last. A friend recommended Franco and Claudia of " My Umbrian Eye -Private Day Tour". Franco also works as a chef, so Claudia is occasionally assisted by her father Giorgio, together they conducted a wonderful 2 day tour of Orvieto, the Umbrian countryside and Siena. They are Umbrian so they know the history of the area well. We enjoyed visiting the fascinating and beautiful historical sites and excellent restaurants, but the part of the tour we found special was the cooking lesson and dinner with Claudia's family. Italian home cooking is amazing. We have told our friends that Franco and Claudia will go to great lengths to make sure you have an excellent experience.

I have spent time with Franco and Claudia more than once. I did not want the typical tourist vacation. I wanted to experience the REAL Italy. I was welcomed with open arms. I learned to make fresh pasta. I learned about Italian wine. I met locals. I ate the most amazing local food made from the most amazing local ingredients and I did not have to worry about anything. I did not have to worry about where I was going to stay. I did not have to worry about where I was going to eat. Just sit back, relax and enjoy 2 of the most welcoming people you can imagine. I can't say enough great things about Franco and Claudia the real Italian experience they crafted for me and my family.
