The guides here were knowledgeable and friendly. We learned a lot and really enjoyed the visit. Had a great lunch at the outdoor cafe.

A wonderful piece of history and helps understand the landscape. The exterior is impressive, but the interior workings and amazing, and worth climbing the stairs for, then there's the views.

Delightful spot for a short visit, and worth a detour. Not a major site, but interesting windmill, a landmark and interesting for its part of the history of the area’s development. Charming guide on duty, lovely walks up to the mere. National Trust doing what it does well - nothing flash, no politics. And car park (free for members), toilets and tea hut, outdoors, so definitely a dry weather visit!

On arrival we parked in the car park which was £3 but free to NT members.
There is a nice clean toilet and shower block next to the car park and a little wooden chalet opposite where you can purchase your tickets to go up the wind pump. If memory serves me right the tickets were £6.70 ... no concessions.
The volunteer staff at the wind pump are passionate and very knowledgeable and readily answer any questions that you might have. I noticed on another review that someone reported the wind pump is fully operational ... it is not and never will be as the water is now pumped via an electric pump. However it is fully restored with the gear wheels disengaged. There are 61 steps to climb to the top and the stairs are quite steep ... you can climb these steps in stages as there are 3 floors. The views at the top are magnifiscent, so take your camera or binoculars. The slight downside to our visit was the "Tea Rooms" ... it is a tea hut at best and you are served through a little window. So if it is cold, windy or rainy all the seating is outside. The fare at the "Tea Hut" is everything processed and packaged flapjacks and sandwiches, of which only white bread is available. The ladies are very nice but they have no input on what they are able to sell. My honest advice would be to take your own picnic. There are walks either side of the river and there are a few benches to sit and enjoy the view on a nice day. Two hours would be ample to see what the Horsey wind pump has to offer and we enjoyed our visit.

The Horsey Wind Pump has been out of bounds for quite sometime due to repairs to the Bonnet and Sails, great work thanks to the NT. The sails were actually working on the 6/4/22 and they are putting it on their website. well worth a visit.

I loved this place, which is set in beautiful and peaceful surroundings in the heart of the Broads. The pump itself was closed when we visited but we were able to view it from the outside and go for a short walk around the surrounding area. Parking is of course free for National Trust members but £3 otherwise. There is a nice tea room here too, with lovely gluten free cakes.

Visited Horsey Windpump on a very wet and windy day.
The area the windpump is set in is very peaceful and in the middle of the countryside. There is lots of history in the area, described on the different boards. A small, but peaceful looking, wildlife garden and also a lovely walk along the river is possible.
There were wildlife tours running on a boat from the site, but not sure if they were NT or a private company.
Small tea kiosk and toilets.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Worth combining with a visit to see the seals at Horsey Beach if in season (only about 5 minutes away by car).

This National Trust place is situated in the countryside with great walks and views everywhere. The car park is free for members but £3.00 otherwise. The windmill was closed when we were there but there is a lovely little kiosk selling hot drinks and snacks with seating outside. We enjoyed a brief visit.

Set in the middle of nowhere Horsey Wind pump is a classic Norfolk view. The windmill was closed when we got there, the National Trust seems to close for winter these days, but here are some great views of the pump and walks along the canal to the mere. There are very few information boards and it costs £3 to park.
