Super visit!
nov. de 2021
Having underestimated the travel time, we arrived close to lunchtime closing but were welcomed and shown round - how kind! It was a compact but very interesting tour, learning not only the culinary uses but also the medicinal uses for all the herbs and spices they grow. It was also good to be able to help them during the pandemic by buying from them too. It's well worth a visit.

What a great way to spend 30 minutes
nov. de 2021 • Pareja
What a great way to spend 30 minutes, the ride from Mt Cinnamon wasn't so harrowing now that we got our Google maps and Siri to work. It was a 30 minute drive though not easy as the roads go up and down and they are tight in some spots. Once we got there, we pulled up to the front and were the only the tourists there so our tour guide was ready. Though a little gruff when I first walked in to make sure I was in the right place, she led us around and was super informative and was actually friendly. The tour goes around the garden and she plucked multiple herbs and spices off the plants to let us smell them. She told us all the medicinal properties of each and how each could be used as ingredients for cooking. There was thyme, clove, cinnamon, tarragon, spearmint, lemongrass, cocoa among others. Everything smelled so fragrant and made the tour fast, fun and informative. We finished the tour by buying multiple herbs and spices including the gift pack which had a bunch of things as a Christmas gift for one of my bf's best friends. We would definitely recommend Laura's Herb and Spice Garden for any and all tourists.

This is a lovely place to have a walk around and see spices in their natural habitats. We were lucky to have a delightful guide who showed us all of the herbs and spices and was great fun!

Super tour of gardens

This is a must see! Guide will take you around garden and explain what they do there and all the different varieties of trees, plants, herbs, etc. It is really interesting. They have a little gift shop where you can purchase many spices.

La dame qui nous a fait la visite nous a donné beaucoup d'informations. Très intéressant de voir comment certains fruits et herbes poussent!

Super tour - a little gem!
feb. de 2020 • Pareja
Well worth taking the time to find this superbly set out and well organised spice garden. Our guide was lovely - very knowledgable and answered our barrage of questions (we are farmers!!) with a smile and plant of detail. The little shop is the perfect place to top up your kitchen spices!

Aromas
ene. de 2020
It’s true - you can smell the spices in the air. Nutmeg and Cinnamon - like Christmas on the breeze. St George’s trades in spices. The cruise terminal has a huge shop. Laura’s garden offers more. The main town offers Georgian architecture, mullioned windows, churches, bunting and a chirpy outlook. Scenic hillside with multi coloured houses nestled in the vegetation. Made an impression. Different with a bit of attitude and style.

A nice pit stop on a tour around the island
dic. de 2019
We rented a car to do a bit of exploring and this place came highly recommended if you want to learn about what they grow on the island and purchase some nutmeg and other spices.

We received a nice interactive tour for our party of six where we got to interact with with the guide and sample the various aromatic herbs.

Its not a huge botanical garden, so I understand the complaints by the cruise ship passengers travelling in large groups.

However (Dear Owner), The garden is a big enough venue and a beautiful enough location that they could accommodate a catered event at their garden and do a cooking class, mixed in with a tour, mixed in with the purchase of available spices.

We just made a soup with the cloves that we purchased and it was really good.

Its not an OMG place to visit, but its a nice respite in a tour around the island.

After seeing the quality of what's available in the spice market in St. George versus the quality of what you can get at Laura's...there is no comparison.

Not geared for cruise excursions
dic. de 2019
We booked this as part of an excursion with a cruise line. Apparently so did the other ships that were there as there were about 100 people there at once, with ONE guide. Needless to say, we didn't see much or learn much of anything because unless you were right in front of her, you couldn't hear. One bathroom stall then was also tricky with 50 women trying to use it. Gift shop accommodated about 10 people MAX.

Stopped here for a tour of the gardens. Our tour guide was so informative. I now see what this island is called the Spice Island. They have such a large variety of herbs and spices. I enjoyed learning about their uses.
