What a perfect day we had cruising with Seth and Marisa. Our party of 10 friends had the absolute best time. The catamaran is beautifully maintained and very comfortable.
Our hosts took great care of us having bought in the beverages we had requested and they prepared a delicious lunch. Fresh fish tacos with grilled Mahi they had caught.
Our first stop was Mariah beach which is stunning. The most beautiful beach we have ever seen. The crystal clear water and fine powdery sand is spectacular. Our second stop at a coral reef for snorkeling was amazing. A huge variety of fish and coral made for a great swim/dive.
We cannot recommend this cruise highly enough.

Whoohoo! Seth and Marissa were FABULOUS! We cruised with them all day, fished, snorkeled, ate Mahi fish tacos, and had the best day of our vacation! Just as we were boarding the dinghy Seth spied an octopus! He took a video for us and Marissa.

When our original charter was cancelled due to the pandemic last summer, we wondered if our 5-day sailing trip for our 20th wedding anniversary would ever happen? Thankfully our booking agent was able to procure Captain Dave Calvert and his chef, Steve, for the late July trip. Adding to the uncertainty of the pandemic was Hurricane Isaias, which looked like it could be a direct threat to our sailing adventure. In the end it all worked out and was hands down the best trip we have ever taken. While storms were raging (literally and figuratively) all-around us, we were able to completely unplug and get away from the crazy chaos of life for a few precious days. We ended up taking our 3 kids (ages 16, 14, and 11) and they had the time of their lives! Captain Dave was so knowledgable and a wonderful host who always did his best to accommodate anything we needed. We snorkled, swam, ate amazing meals, fished, checked out islands, and learned a lot about saiing. Steve was an amazing chef, who kept us laughing with his stories!

We booked the Cat Island day trip with Dave and Trish leaving from Port Howe on the south end of Cat Island in early November. This was our third time staying on Cat and wanted to do something different. We both love to snorkel, swim and sail so this seemed like the perfect excursion. It was fantastic! You take a little motorized dingy out to the Catamaran and load up. Then set sail for Windy Bay which was about an hour sail. Unfortunately it was a choppy sail and a few of us got sea sick. There were 6 of us on the boat. Take gravol or wear seabands if you are susceptible. However once we dropped anchor and jumped into the crystal turquoise blue sea we were in paradise. Trish had a beautiful lunch prepared after we swan and soaked in the sun and the view. We also swam over to the beach from the boat and walked along it. Tyler, the first mate, was comical and dove down with us and found starfish. He was great! Dave is super interesting - ask him about his Christopher Columbus trip! We then sailed part way back to the shelf and snorkelled. It was amazing! We saw fish here was hadn't seen before. Amazing coral reef. I would highly recommend going on this one day tour. And I would do it again in a heartbeat! Do it!!

I have been sailing with Captain Dave Calvert for many years and have chartered his boat for the last 4 years to explore the remote islands of the southern Bahamas. I have been sailing all my life and these have been some of the best adventures I have ever enjoyed. Dave is a consummate sailor having broken the Transatlantic record in under 5 days! If you want to learn the fine art of sailing fast, I can think of no better teacher. But if you just want to sit back and enjoy some of the most beautiful sailing in the world, then Destiny III is for you. If you're lucky, Dave might even play his guitar after dinner and that is a real treat!

We have traveled by personal airplane to all the major Islands in the Bahamas An even rented power cats in the Abacos but We always wanted to go to Conception Island it is just south of Cat Island but is only accessible by boat. Dave and Trish were great they even let us bring our small dog along that played well with there dog Gigi. It was an unforgettable excursion into a large creek full of turtles, fish and conch in beautiful clear blue waters. Not to mention the multiple beaches, the birds, and the walks in this uninhabited natural reserve we even saw a cool fresh water well. Dave parked the boat so we could snorkel right off the back of it which we did multiple times. It’s a protected marine and land park which might be the reason I saw some of the largest fish I have ever seen in the Bahamas grouper, trigger fish, even a large black fin tuna plus a few harmless nurse sharks. We also got to snorkel another spot by dingy that had some of the largest and most colorful coral fans I have ever seen. Dave is an expert sailer and sail-maker of beautiful carbon fiber sails and has intriguing stories to tell. I must have asked a thousand questions about sailing and he really enjoyed explaining it all. He will even let you help out as much as you like. Sailing a power at was way cool. Trish his wife is fun and entertaining . The boat was super roomy and very clean. The meals were great. If you have a chance it is a trip of a lifetime.

My husband and I spent a week with friends sailing the Bahamas on Destiny III. It was truly a dream vacation! Everything on board the catamaran was immaculately clean and comfortable. We trolled for fish while sailing. On the first morning, we caught a dolphin fish which we enjoyed for an amazing lunch! Every single meal was of gourmet quality and plentiful! Captain Dave is a world class sailor, expert tour guide, and easy going by nature. He took us to the beautiful, secluded beaches and snorkeling spots. We visited Conception Island for two nights and could easily have spent the entire week there! We made stops in The Exumas, Long Island, and Cat Island to explore the reefs and get a taste of island living, Bahamian food/drinks. In the evenings, we enjoyed amazing sunsets and Dave entertained us with stories and his wonderful guitar playing.

We have never had a more relaxing vacation. It was a very romantic trip to enjoy as a couple, but we are already talking about bringing along the kids to make for a fun family vacation next time. There is no better way to get to know the Bahamas. We highly recommend Captain Dave!!!

We spent two weeks sailing to uninhabited, or barely habited islands on the Destiny II. My husband's focus was fly fishing. My focus was exploring and snorkeling in remote areas of the Bahamas. There were fish to be found on beautiful flats. There were spots to snorkel in both deep water near reefs or close to shore with wonderful coral. There were no other anglers or snorkelers in sight. Paradise! All the while we were plied with healthy delicious meals and scrumptious desserts. Captain Dave could not do enough to keep us occupied, whether beach combing, cliff climbing or scooting from place to place in a very seaworthy, speedy dinghy. At the end of the journey there was some local color added with drinks and dancing at the Georgetown waterfront hotel. One week would not have sufficed for this one of a kind adventure, especially with the vagaries of wind and weather. Dave, a master sailor, ended our trip to Georgetown with an exciting race against a sister ship.

My husband and I and our two children took a day sail to Winding Bay with Trish and Dave aboard their beautiful Catamaran. We sailed, swam, snorkelled, explored the beach and had a lovely lunch, prepared by Trish. We all had an amazing time and I would highly recommend taking a trip on the Destiny II if you visit Cat Island!
