If you want to see the most beautiful landscape you can imagine it’s a must visit. I never tire is seeing it , always changing with the seasons and light conditions. All my friends I take to see the surrounding area cannot believe we live in such a beautiful place.

Accessibility is not the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about walking in the Peak District, but the Goyt Valley has priority parking for people with mobility challenges and long tracks of accessible walking suitable even for wheelchairs.
Once on your walk, the only thing to hear is the wind and the calls of birds. There is beauty everywhere you look and, should you choose to, plenty of challenging terrain too - steep and satisfyingly hard to climb. A few reservoirs and plenty of open acces land make this one of the best places to walk. Bring your camera!

We visited on a beautiful Autumn day and although the car parks were fairly full it was easy to start walking and hardly see another person. The scenery was stunning and there were so many walking routes to chose from. One of the highlights of our week in Derbyshire.

Visited the valley in September and what a site. Even though little water due to the dry spell it was fantastic and great for walking.
Did see some people exit one area carring a large plastic container and spades? Do you get Truffles in this area?

For an hour or two between rainstorms, we drove through Macclesfield Forest and enjoyed the spectacular vistas in the Goyt Valley, an exceptionally beautiful part of the world

I was in Goyt valley "working", it is an amazing location. Coming from the Northumberland countryside I feel qualified to talk about amazing landscapes. Goyt valley is just an incredible unspoiled landscape, with loads of easy to use footpaths. The weather helped make it more eerie and atmospheric and along with the almost empty reservoir (4 months without rain does this) the sights are something to behold. Peaceful and tranquil.

Goyt Valley is a lovely reservoir called Erwood, there are all different walks around it, and it's great to dog walk round or collect blackberries, with easy access

Looking for wheelchair friendly walks in the Goyt valley area. Easy terrain and no steps or stiles. Small gradients acceptable.

Could anyone advise if there are wheelchair friendly walks in the Goyt Valley area? One of us uses a small electric scooter. Easy terrain needed with no steps or stiles.

The Riverside is ideal.Distance: 2 miles and Very easy.Start point: Errwood Hall car park
This short walk includes one of the most scenic spots in the valley, as it runs down to the River Goyt (which is very much a stream at this point). This part of the walk is along a solid track making it ideal for wheelchair users, or families with small children and baby-buggies. There are also some great paces for picnics, alongside the Goyt.
Enjoy!
