This is the sort of place you just have to stand back and be amazed. The outside is great but wow when you get inside it is magical. The workings make you think hard - working out what does what - how it works . This is a brilliant piece of ancient engineering and is unsurpassable. A has to be seen inside event.

Visited on my way to Ivinghoe Beacon, went around sunset and it was quiet, a lovely open location, great place for photos

It’s not an area we generally come to but we were in the area for the sole reason of climbing Ivinghoe Beacon.I certainly wouldn’t recommend this car park for the Beacon as on a very nasty bend both ways with little visibility.Coming down from the walk it’s hard not to be impressed with it in the distance. It’s a very easy amble from the car park and quite impressive.I do think the NT could have done more though when you actually get to it with some information boards so one could learn more of when it was in it’s true working state.

Nice gentle walk to the Windmill from a small parking place next by. Makes for some great photos and dating back to the 17th century, Pitstone Windmill has a rich and interesting past that takes us back to its life as a working mill. Explore the history of this gem in the Chiltern countryside.

I am the wooden surfer of the ploughed

fields beneath your feet; you see me

but you don't know me

I am the murmuring galleon

navigating a sea of a thousand winds

seen but not understood.

I am the counter point, the perfect partner

captured on a quadrant of celestial arms.

I am here and all about you, felt, but never

seen.

So reap kindly what this benign ark of wood

and wind has sown for this is your future, this

is our future without indulgences, the only future

and our only salvation.

Easy access meant that we were able to visit this mill without any problem. It is really inspiting to see what a group of volunteers have manged to do in order to preserve part of the region's heritage.
Just be cafeful when going in and coming out of the car park - there are some pretty nasty potholes.

The NT know how to look after a place and this although small is lovely and worth a visit there are some good pubs and tea rooms near by

Close to yrose and crown pub in village. A welcome oasis on the edge of Dunstable downs. Well maintained memorabilia of when we made our own bread

We walked round the field and found the windmill lovely. Was busy on a Saturday afternoon. Watch dog owners as some not on leads.

We visited here Sunday in August having tried to go to Ascott house which was closed . Parking is limited but the tour of the windmill was great and we stayed for nearly an hour soaking up the history . Well with a visit .
