There were 8 of us in our group and we are all still raving about our fabulous experience! We were greeted by Margaret at the train station with open arms. When we arrived at our beautiful villa for the week we felt we were welcomed into Nat and Rosie’s home. We were pampered for our week. With wonderful tours of the area including a few vineyards . Home cooked meals and a wonderful cooking class taught by Siobhan. Would highly recommend this tour it was a 10 in our books.
Thank you to our wonderful women hostesses who saw to every detail!!!

One conjures up an image when you hear of a Tuscan villa in, of course, Italy. Well, our experience this last May lived up to the billing times five. The villa itself exceeded our expectations. It was beautifully restored with outstanding accommodations. Each couple had their own very large bedroom with a private bath, and every room had its special character. If the weather would have been a little more cooperative, we could have enjoyed a beautiful backyard pool. The luscious flowers and grounds were cared for by a weekly visit from a local caretaker.

But the true icing on the experience was the wonderful group of ladies that cared for our every need and, I might add, simply spoiled us! The day we arrived greeted us with a delicious grilled extravaganza with all the trimmings. The mornings featured a variety of nutritious foods coupled with none other than real Italian coffee. Several of our wonderful hostesses, Nat and

Sibian, made sure that breakfast, or as they say in Australia, brekkie, was on the table and ready. What a great way to start any day, and we experienced this every morning.

The days offered a variety of different venues and meals to satisfy any culinary appetite. We usually visited a local city, village, or town that we had the opportunity to explore on our own, but not until we were first treated to an espresso or cappuccino to send us on our way. The villages were picturesque in a stunning mountain setting with shopping, exploring, and always had a regional special feature. Lunch brought us to enjoy a local restaurant that truly was a treat. These restaurants were in areas only known to natives like Margret, our driver, tour guide, geographer, information expert, and an excellent cook in her own rite, which made Italy all the more special.

Dinners varied every day from exquisite dining in provincial towns to wonderfully prepared meals back at our own private Tuscan villa. Of course, the meals were engineered by our expert fun loving hostesses. Enough cannot be said about how these ladies enhanced our vacation from amazing to extraordinary. As an example, one of our dinners was prepared by all of us under the watchful expertise of Sibian, who I might add, is a professional chef outside of her annual Tuscan venture. We had the best time making everything from homemade pasta to fried zucchini flowers and sage leaves among other culinary delights. Not to mention, always under the watchful eye of our own vignette, Rosie, who made sure every bottle of wine paired perfectly with every meal. And the wine flowed freely every day and evening. Of course it flowed freely, we were in Italy.

Going home brought a sadness of an experience that you never want to come to an end. But the memories and pictures we all have will be something we will remember for the rest of our lives.

Just got back home from our beautiful vacation in Tuscany. My wife and I have travelled quite a lot since my retirement (less so during the last couple of years) but this “all inclusive” vacation is at the top of the list. It started with Margaret meeting us at Camucia train station and welcoming us with her vivacious personality, then guiding us to our villa near Cortona. We were met by Nat and Rosie, who together with Margaret, made sure we were comfortable. Margaret guided us to out-of-the-way local villages, small lovely cities (like Pienza) and larger ones (Monticchiello and Montepulciano, where some of Twilight New Moon was filmed) and cities like Siena. We lunched and dined in 5 star restaurants, local hidden-away trattorias or had specially prepared meals at the villa. We had local house wines (in no name litre carafes) and vintage wines and in between – but all tasted great. Even had private wine tastings in the villa by our own expert several nights (thanks Rosie). We stopped by Bramasole and spent our free day in Cortona (say “Under the Tuscan Sun”). Sioban gave us our own cooking class in the villa (I did the cutting while my wife did the memorizing) and made sure all our requests were met. Sioban and Nat and Jeanette prepared our final dinner, Fiorentina di Chianina Steak (look it up) with local wines (my choice, Chianti, of course). Finally, our week was ending. Like the end of summer camp, we were sorry to leave our new friends behind, but wish them the very best.

Stunning views, spectacular food and wine, small Tuscany villages and brilliant, thoughtful hosts…priceless.
Our ‘Mad about Tuscany’ experience was beyond our expectations. Our villa in Cortona was a magical home base for our Tuscany adventure. We had yummy food prepared for us in the villa by the incredible Sioban and her enthusiastic, fun team - Nat and Rosie. We were escorted by the vivacious Margaret to local restaurants, wineries and historic sites. Sioban and Rosie led a cooking school for our group of 8. Lots of fun making fresh pasta and other Tuscan favourites. Rosie and Nat prepared some delicious breakfast options and Nat kept the delicious wine flowing 😜 🥰!
Olive oil tastings (thanks Josie), local shopping, hiking, biking and sitting around the Villa pool were some of the other perks of this great adventure.
Definitely a trip of a lifetime!!!!

Carlo and Sioban are quite possibly the most friendly people on the planet! When our group visited Tuscany last September (2019) we were treated as if we had been very close friends of theirs for decades. Carlo knows EVERYTHING about the area, including the very BEST restaurants and wineries. Sioban is also quite knowledgable and is a fantastic chef, offering samples of her amazing skills. Having been traveling the world for over 40 years, we have NEVER encountered a more welcoming atmosphere, and we were truly inspired by the beauty of Tuscany and our hosts. And we are now BIG fans of Tuscan wine.

Three years ago I enjoyed an excellent week with Sioban & Carlo on their ‘Mad about Tuscany Tour’. Last week I returned and was not disappointed. They are magnificent hosts, Carlo shares his vast local knowledge and Sioban her excellent cooking skills. If you are looking for an experience that includes visiting places off the tourist route, learning about Tuscany, enjoying local wines and food, and learning how to prepare some local dishes then this is for you. The week long tour is for a maximum of 8 guests which ensures a very personalised experience. As most places visited are hilltop towns it’s not suited for anyone with mobility problems.

Our recent week spent in between a wonderful month of travels in Northern Italy and The Dalmatian Coast at the beautiful Cortona villa, cooking with Sioban and touring with Carlo, was absolute perfection - delicious food and wine, incredible architecture, gorgeous landscapes surrounded by art and crafts and history - all in non stop sunshine every day created so many lovely memories that will keep us warm this winter and in years to come. Mille grazie!

An absolutely wonderful week in Tuscany with delightful hosts Carlo and Sioban. The old cities we were taken to, the information provided by Carlo about the area and its history and the amazing food and wines at small restaurants we were taken to were all first class. The Italian cooking class with Sioban and the meals she cooked for us were terrific. Overall, our holiday in Tuscany with "Mad About Tuscany" tours was even greater than we had expected. Thank you Sioban and Carlo for an awesome week with you.

The accommodation at the Villa was beautifully appointed and spacious. The grounds gardens and views were breathtaking. Our hosts Siobhan and Carlo were friendly knowledgeable and passionate about Tuscany and made us feel like one of the family. You will visit the most charming villages and sample exquisite fresh food. The cooking school day was fun, learning a lot about Italian cooking.
There is a lot of walking so a good pair of walking shoes is recommended.
The week with the Mad about Tuscany team was the best 7 days of our Italian adventure.
I would highly recommend this holiday.
