Started in Bodinnick. My son who is 9 found it easy and no issues at all. Lots of ups and downs. I’m not fit at all and some parts were steep but all manageable if you take your time. I was breathless in some parts but nothing a little stop to admire the views would stop you. Wear trainers or suitable shoes. We started about 10am and it was really peaceful and only came across a couple families out walking and dog walkers. Stopped in the Lugger pub in pontruan for a well earned drink. Ferry across to Fowey and ferry back to Bodinnick. Nice morning out. It was dry and sunny which made it a very pleasant walk. If raining it would have been very muddy in parts.

A very satisfying walk. Nice length for a casual walk, takes about 2 -
2 1/2 hours depending on how long you spend admiring views. We started in Fowey, taking the car ferry across. There are toilets on either side of the ferry crossing. Foot passengers cost £2.30 and card payments were accepted. It is a steep hill to reach the well marked public footpath on the right. The route is well sign posted and there is a guide to Hall Walk on the NT website. It can be muddy but we were lucky. It is steep in places but we are late fifties/ early sixties and not particularly used to hill walking and we were both fine. In a couple of places it was near the edge of not a sheer drop but a steep slope down. I took a walking pole because I thought it might be slippery and I found it useful to take pressure off my knees going down and to provide a little balance in places. There are lots of resting places and benches at view points. The views are great and well worth the climb. There is also a nice feeling of remoteness even though it isn’t actually that long a walk. At the end we had a drink in the local pub and took the ferry back to Fowey (a little dearer than going out as it is further). A very satisfying circular walk involving a bit of effort but not exhausting.

We parked opposite the Ferry Inn and made the steep climb towards the first gate on the walk. Slippery/steep ascents and descents on the walk, but some of the views are stunning. Plenty of woody areas of tranquility. We got the ferry back from Polraun which was great.

This was a great walk with fantastic views over Fowey and the harbour. Also liked the little historical facts you come across and the quirkiness of having to take a couple of boats across the water (make sure you have some £). It is steep in places which may become hazardous when wet so it mightn’t be suitable if you have mobility issues or if you’re particularly unfit. We started the walk at the car ferry in Bodinnick - there’s a little free car park a couple of hundred metres up the hill from the queue waiting area. Also meant we could finish with a drink at the Old Ferry Inn where the outside seated area also has a spectacular view over the harbour and Fowey as you’ll see from our pic.

A good walk with steep hills/climbs in places but worth it for the great views. Ferry across to Boddinick up steep hill and walk starts half way up to the right, ferry back from Polruan to Fowey, around 4 miles, walking boots needed

This is a great family and perfect distanced for a young family.

We took our 18 months old..some time spent in our carrier and some of it he walked. It was perfect for his first proper walk!

We went Fowey- Polruan-Boddinick and it was a good choice! Steep start out of Polruan but then it was pretty steady up and down. My little boy loved the steps along the way and 'tripp trapping' over the bridge!

Didn't know this was a specific walk when we planned it from our walking map! Took the ferry over from Fowey and pottered around Polruan and found the path, and set off to walk up the estuary, on a cold wet stormy day. The trees gave shelter from the worst of the gale, and there were delightful glimpses of the river below and the boats and the estuary. We absolutely loved it. Followed the coast path all the way around; found the monument to "Q" and paused on one or two of the benches. DOwn to the Post Sawmill and up again. Round to Bodinnick and back on the ferry. Loved it. One or two places were steep and there were some slippery steps in the rain, but I was wearing walking boots and it was fine. Some parts in the trees, some parts on the cliff top, last part going over the top field and down again. A lovely mixture. Will definitely do again!

We just completed this circular walk, on a sunny day. The paths are sometimes uneven underfoot and I think would be treacherous in places if wet. Fantastic views across to Fowey. We’d do it again. Note that the last ferry time back from Polruan to Fowey is currently 5.15pm.
