My friend and I make our way through Virginia at least twice a month to visit friends. We make it a point to stay in the Extended Stay on Churchland Boulevard. Mr. T. And his team always treat us nice, our room no matter where we are is always clean and smoke free. Some of the guest need to control their pets, but we understand it's pet friendly so it doesn't bother us. The grab and go breakfast works for us, oatmeal and coffee and we head out. Thank you Umfort, Tisha, Ms. Margaret, Danielle, Courtney, Layla, Corey, and Mr. Terence. See you on our way back through.

I went to Chesapeake Beach enjoyed my stay it was relaxing and peaceful my friends and I prettymuch enjoyed the peace and quiet, it was off season so nothing much to do, but sit on the beach and talk. We had a great time will come again.

This rating is not for a specific area or identity. It is an overall view of the body of water and the area surrounding this bay. The Chesapeake Bay stretches hundreds of miles cover parts of the state of Maryland and Virginia. As a D.C. person, I have traveled around the Bay areas for a few decades and found much pleasure from my trip. The most recent trip was this month when I explore many places in Kent Island area. Kent Island is the biggest island in the Chesapeake Bay and is the first English settlement in the area. There are fishing peers, marshland, beaches, and plenty of small historic towns near it. The Chesapeake Bay is the one famous one and the only main direct way to the Atlantic beaches of Delaware, Maryland and Virginia.

we go down to the bay every weekend either to go boating or fishing. the sites you see are just grand. the bay is most beautiful in the fall when the trees on the shore line are changing colors. also, it's a grand site to see when your on the water & watch the sun rise & sun set. we have so many memories from the past years & plan to have even more in the future.

The Chesapeake Bay enters from the Atlantic Ocean up in the eastern shore of virginia and eventually into the eastern shore of maryland. Many miles, many attractions. It ends near the End of the Susquehanna River up in northern Maryland at a charming little village called Chesapeake City, full of museums, quaint B and B's, fish shacks and pretty little indie shops. The Chesapeake houses several towns like these including islands where time just stopped ovr 50 years ago, where hospitality and seafood ARE life. Watersports enthusiasts flock from all over to parasail, waterski, sea doo, jet ski and its beaches are clean and ever changing with development. I could write many things about the Bay, but I want to leave you with an experience of riding over TOP the bay on the Preston Memorial Bay Bridge (not to be confused with the Bay Bridge Tunnel in VA. This bridge connects Maryland's Western shore (Baltimore and Annapolis) with Maryland's Eastern shore (Easton, Cambridge, Salisbury and finally Ocean City, Maryland! There are actually two bridges, one used for east and one used for west bound travlers. Usually. The bridges are all steel, open spans, higher than high and scarier than hell. I drove it for many years without a second though until I was the last one over it following a high wind and accident closurel Can't do it anymore. Full on panic attack. Don't suffer, get an escort to drive you and your car over for like $40. Check that out on the bridge's link. Good Luck and enjoy the scenery!

For our 40th anniversary we rented a beautiful 40 foot sailboat for a day out on the bay from Chesapeake Yacht Charters (www.chesapeake-charters.com ) Captain Bob Bell was very friendly and knowledgeable as he guided us through the bay. He even gave good advice to family members who were concerned about getting sea sick and they all felt great all day. Captain Bob gave my sons and daughter-in law a turn at the helm and taught us all bit about sailing. The sailboat was clean and big enough for 9 adults and a few children. There was room below for the kids to play when they got bored and room above for all of us to catch some sun. There was even a place to sit on top of the boat with a type of awning so you could be out of the sun. I highly recommend chartering with Captain Bob and Chesapeake Yacht Charters. You will have an awesome day! Check out the web page for Chesapeake Yacht Charters or email directly to Captain Bob at: BRMarine@Verizon.net

I use to take many trips to Rock Hall and I recommend that you take a trip here as well. The marinas are so fun to walk around and see, and the beautiful scenery and shops and the food is superb, obvilously especially the seafood. I took a wonderful boat ride and found my experiences on the Chesapeake Bay to be just the best. Wonderful place

A favorite destination for boaters from the nearby rivers and the Chesapeake Bay, Chesapeake City is a place worth visiting. With five bed and breakfasts, fine restaurants and shops the entire City can be walked in under an hour. Download the Walking Tour Map from the Chesapeake City website and you'll be well armed to see the homes built around the 18th century (most of the homes in the City have a plaque describing a brief history of the home). Several antique shops, curio's, boutique and restaurants are all neatly assembled just a few minutes from the C & D canal, which leads into the head of the Chesapeake Bay. I learned that the C & D Canal was built to allow for a short cut from Baltimore Bay to the Chesapeake Bay - a saving of roughly 300 miles when compared to making the trip via Cape Charles, Virginia. Many of the homes we saw in Chesapeake City were once owned by Captains of the steamships used in the area. There are about four or five restaurants in the town and at least 3 are actually on the water. Chesapeake City gets very busy but there is adequate parking. Highly recommended for a laid back visit to see what life was like years ago in a quaint harbor town!

Trolling for striped bass. I've catch several, only three the permitted size. Good boat, good people, nice trip, not enough emotion (because of the size of the fish)

The bridges do drive are amazing. We drove from Norfolk back to MD over the bay and it was just stunning especially early in the morning when the sun is riding and the sky seems to be one with the sea, have to go back. The bay was filled with boats and early morning fishers.
