Sally organised an amazing ride for myself and my friend in Cotopaxi. It was such an amazing experience as we wore traditional clothing to ensure we were warm and were able to ride incredible horses who just loved trekking. I am so grateful for this experience and to Sally who organised it all.

Ride Andes has the experience and enthusiasm to make every riding holiday a great adventure. Having previously enjoyed rides with Ride Andes in Ecuador, Chile, and Brazil Pantanal, we decided to head south to the wild Andes and glaciers of El Calefate. We were not disappointed!
Long but comfortable rides on sure-footed creollo horses to the extremities of the estancia where our gaucho guides cooked wonderful assado and stews were interspersed with truly unique private boat excursions to the face of the Perito Moreño glacier and to an isolated glacial lake near the border with Chile.
In the evenings there was a warm fire (welcome even in the southern summer) and even warmer welcome from our hosts before a delightful dinner and sound sleep in our ensuite rooms.
We highly recommend this ride with Ride Andes

My friend and I completed two back-to-back Patagonia rides last week and we are still absorbing all of the amazing experiences we had.
The most varied variety of trails, from steep climbing through bamboo thickets, to multiple river crossings, to riding through scree and snow fields, to cantering across a meadow, all remarkably led by Sally and amazing gauchos.
Awesome scenery every day. The mountain tops were always filled with weather; the icebergs were deep blue and the glaciers nicely calved just when we were watching.
Beautiful horses, wonderful rides! An unforgettable trip!

This was the most brilliant vacation. The horses were spectacular. The landscape was breathtaking. The riding was exhilarating. And after long but rewarding days in the saddle, we could unwind in the most beautiful and comfortable haciendas and inns. I will definitely take another trip with Sally.

Had an amazing ride with Sally through the countryside north of Quito and Cotopaxi National Park, stopping at for overnights at haciendas along the way. Sally's horses are incredibly fit and well-trained, and both they and Sally took very good care of this rusty rider. Everything was impeccably coordinated, from horse logistics to the tasty and diverse picnic lunches, and Sally stood out as incredibly knowledgable and safety-conscious guide. Seeing Ecuador on a multi-day horseback tour was a first for me, and I think it gave me a much deeper understanding of the country than if I had stayed in Quito or just booked day rides at haciendas. Be sure to ask Sally about all the plant and wildlife you spot along the way; I can guarantee you she'll know what it is.
I can't wait to return to Ecuador (or perhaps Patagonia?) for another trip with Ride Andes! Definitely check out the website to see all the rides Sally offers across South America; there are so many it's hard to choose my next one.

If you've ever dreamed of an exotic trip that includes horses, this is the one for you. And whether you are a passionate equestrian or someone who just wants a different sort of adventure, Ride Andes offers it all.
I have ridden with Ride Andes in Uruguay, Argentina and Ecuador on multiple trips over the last 20 years (as well as with other companies), and I can say without a doubt that Sally and her team offer the gold standard in experience. The quality of horses, tack, food, accommodations, local knowledge, and safety are all top notch.
Whether it's a fast paced gallop across the highlands of Ecuador or a lovely scenic cruise, I wouldn't hesitate to give them a try.
I will return to ride with them over the next years, bringing family and friends, reveling in the experience of an insiders view of places unlike any other.

I loved being out in the countryside, riding near the Cotopaxi volcano and seeing the large variety of flora and fauna Ecuador has to offer. Sally's Ride Andes tour will ensure the best experience possible with her deep knowledge of horses and nature that she freely shares. It was a magical experience and the combination of valley riding and Volcano plains will be lasting great memories.

I can't describe how amazing this adventure was. We stayed at Hacienda Los Mortinos for a three day ride with daily returns to this beautiful hotel. The ride was fantastic, with an experienced guide and a support guide who was a delightful young woman named Robin. I did not have interactions with Sally, who my daughter worked with to arrange this adventure, but boy did she take care of every detail. The horses were lovely and well cared for and must be at least half mountain goat. The scenery was breathtaking and the level of riding was adjusted to our experience and condition (hint, we had more experience than conditioning!)
Do NOT miss this if you love horses, the outdoors, and prepare to be astounded. I agree with the previous review "adventure of a lifetime".

5 stars is not enough! This trip is a once-in-a-lifetime trip with breathtaking scenery, first class guides, athletic and healthy horses and quaint, authentic haciendas. Sally is wonderful and the trip is not one to be missed!

A friend and I just returned from Ecuador and a horseback trip with Sally at Ride Andes. We did the 3 day ride with 2 nights at La Merced Hacienda in the Zuleta Valley. What can I say except it was a thrilling, bucket list, epic adventure. The horses were very well taken care of and loved, in great physical shape and up for the challenge. We rode through the mountains, surrounding pastures , through streams, along rivers, through groves of eucalyptus, surrounded by grasses waving in the winds filled with wildflowers and condors and kestrels flying overhead. I truly felt like I was in a movie, or a dream.
Sally was a wealth of information about plant identification and their medicinal uses. She shared with us the history of the area regarding Spain's stranglehold on the land . All very informative and troubling.
I am not an experienced rider but Sally was very patient with me and helped me everyday to try to improve my experience with my horse. She is a good teacher who really tried to keep the riding safe and comfortable. She has the best saddles I have ever ridden on...no sore anything all 3 days!
Each night the hacienda was such a welcoming, cozy place to return to for a delicious meal after a day of riding .The owners took very good care of us and the rooms were fabulous.
Everything and everyone associated with Sally were fantastic including the driver who happily made 2 panaderia stops so we could buy local pastries. This tour was outstanding. The scenery is beyond description...spectacular is as close as i can get, but there really are no words .Do not hesitate to join Ride Andes on this trip. You will be blown away.
Thanks Sally for an experience of a lifetime. We would love to come back and do the Cotopaxi tour with you.
p.s. Do not be afraid to go to Ecuador during this pandemic. They are very organized and serious about covid and were mask compliant EVERYWHERE we went. The people understand how to try to stop the spread. I am from the U.S. and we have a lot to learn from the people of Ecuador about caring for your neighbor.
