Nice club in Surabaya to spend the night. Good drinks great ambience. It would be better if it's on a wider space. Specially for the dancing floor. Recommended for surabaya night life

Depends on what you're into I guess, but this place is a bit wild. I will say, the music was so so. The resident band was pretty good, and though they didn't play my type of music (I like R & B, hip hop, rap, country, rock, and alternative), they were entertaining. Unfortunately, the DJ that followed I can't say the same for, and as many clubs apparently here in Surabaya played nothing but rave, house, and synthetic music, all sounding the same. The club doesn't really have a dress code, but flip flops and sandals aren't allowed, as I got to to watch an American that just arrived pretty much throw a temper tantrum when he was told he would have to change his shoes (which they provide, and looked somewhat like ballet shoes). I will say, I'm American, and hope no one represents their country like that over something as perplexing as shoes). The staff stayed very calm and collective, as the guy even threatened security, along with insulting the lovely entry hostess/cashier about the situation. The staff was friendly, but it is a bar, and I will say the bartenders have a lot to improve on. You have to spend 30000 local to get in (I think, it amounts to about $2.50 US if you buy a coke), and drinks are very pricey overall (around $8-15 US depending on the drink). Unfortunately, you would think they would want you to drink, but each drink is measured out to almost pains taking measures, and you wont' get a drop more than the standard "shot" in a drink. So for the price, big turn off. Secondly, they give you a receipt upon entering for the credit to your first drink, you hand it to the bartender for your drink. Well, we waited (me and a friend) over 20 minutes for a simple Mojito, and my Jamison and Coke. Trying to order your second drink takes just as long. The bar tenders get up and dance on he music stage (as there is no true dance floor), and do things like blow 151 out of their mouths to produce flames, and it's all entertaining, but again, it is a bar, people go to drink, so they really should do their job and due diligence on servicing people their drinks first. It's quite crowded, and overall, the ambiance is nice, though the layout of the club leaves one less than the desired effect of being able to drink and also move through crowds. Saving grace was again the live band was good, and afterwards were very cool to chat with, and the staff (mainly waitresses and security) were very friendly and gracious. There's not many places to pick in Surabaya, as it isn't really a "nightlife" kind of town if you're into bars and the club scene, so it's worth a go, just a bit expensive for what you get.
