Eddie was a fantastic guide. The best we've had over 3 months traveling in South America. We hiked and biked. The bikes and safety gear were in top condition, and the briefings clear and accurate. It was an awesome day.

Une EXPÉRIENCE inoubliable. Nous avons passé une journée géniale. Notre guide Edinson était très gentil et nous a appris beaucoup de choses sur la région et le paysage de l’Equateur. Il est venu nous chercher avec son 4x4, très propre. Il dispose de superbes vélos, de très bonnes qualités, bien équipés avec tout le nécessaire. On sent que c’est vraiment du matériel de professionnel. Le prix est vraiment abordable et vaut largement le coup pour une telle prestation, le parcours et la descente du Chimborazo est juste magnifique et unique, des paysages splendides, brefff. Ça vaut largement le coup. Allez y, on a passé une superbe journée et à la fin on dîne un repas fait maison bio super bon. JE RECOMMANDE LES YEUX FERMÉES

Our Mountainbiking trip with Edy was excellent.
The mountainbikes were very new and very professional.
Edy speaks very well english and answered all our questions. Even though we had some rain at the end of our tour, we enjoyed the tour with Edy very much!

Unser Tag mit Edy war einer der besten Tage, die wir in Ecuador hatten. Der Chimborazo und der Hike nach oben waren einfach nur atemberaubend und die Fahrradtour runter ein Adrenalin-Kick. Ich würde jedem empfehlen einen Stopp in Riobamba und mit Edy auf dem Chimborazo zu machen. Edy spricht super Englisch und hat uns auch viel über die Region erzählt.

Went solo with Edison about a month ago. He’s very relaxed and a total professional. You can tell he’s experienced through the many years of biking with tourists. If you are planning on going, know your limits. Don’t try to think your more experienced than you actually are. Be realistic if you haven’t been riding. There’s different levels to choose. I’m fairly a good rider and found the intermediate at my level. Choose correctly. At the end we stopped off at a house and sat at a table in a nice backyard with a great view and ate plenty of food from great hosts( friends). It was so much better than a restaurant. Felt like I was visiting someone. Great day !

Excellent day with Biking Spirit yesterday organised only the evening before.
Our guide, took us up to 5100m on chimborazo. Then mountain biking down 1500m and 32km to San Juan where we had a great lunch in a garden looking out to the mountain. Really knew the mountain well, really encouraging and helpful on the walk as we felt the effects of the altitude. Good bikes and a real cycling enthusiast. Started early for the best weather and just the two of us on the tour, so we were the only people at the top for half an hour. Thoroughly recommend biking spirit.

I enjoyed mountain biking down Chimborazo with Edison of Biking Spirit today. He's an excellent tour guide who is very familiar with the Chimborazo region, and I certainly appreciate that he responded to my inquiry about a biking tour at a time when tourists are scarce in Ecuador due to Covid-19. Many biking businesses are reluctant to go on tours with only one tourist and charge too much, but Edison was honest with me. I appreciated the fact that Edison didn't just guide me down the mountain, but instructed me about features of the region and its wildlife. Highly recommended.

He lacks patience with people who haven't done EXTENSIVE mountain biking before. He also, got annoyed at me when I fell of the bike because the wind pushed me over. That's not really how I like to be treated when I spend money. Today completely proved that. I tried to communicate how I felt to him, but I was completely disregarded. It might of been a language barrier, which is why I didn't give him 1 star. Go with ProBici because there is multiple nice people that work there.

This is "he" or Edison Baldeón the Biking Spirit manager, honestly I didn´t check this profile during one year (because the pandemic), today I read your comments; I remember you, you shared the tour with a Swiss couple, the day before the tour we talked about the conditions and experience and you told me that you had biking experience (enough for us because you took the EASY route to ride, mostly tarmac), before to start while the people tested and rode the bikes, you couldn´t ride the bike in the parking lot (flat terrain), however we allowed you to continue expecting you got confidence with the bike and terrain. This no happened. The Swiss couple were riding well and taking several short cuts and single-tracks and of course having a lot of patience and waiting for you (trying to ride on the normal route). During the lunch you never participated and didn´t eat the food; so I think your bad feeling before, during and after the tour were the real problem and don´t affect our good reputation. We don´t want mountain bike pros, we just want nice people with good atitude for touring. Thank you

Nous avons passé une superbe journée durant laquelle nous retrouvé Edinson vers 8h30 avant de monter en pick up jusqu'au camp de base de 4800m avec les vélos à l'arrière.
Une fois à 4800m et avec un thé de coca ingéré nous sommes montés jusqu'à la limite alpiniste à 5100m à pied avant de redescendre prendre les vélos restés à 4800m.
Là nous nous sommes équipés puis avons traversés les multiples paysages que reserve le Chimborazo (sable volcanique, végétation basse, ornières, canyon, village andin etc..) avec rencontre des vigognes sauvages. La descente jusque 2800 nous a pris environ 3h et reste un superbe moment de notre voyage.
La dernière partie sur le bitume n'est pas très interessante et nous aurons pu demander à charger les velos dans le pick up.
Edinson est adorable et aime partager ses connaissances sur le volcan et les sports de montagne.
Nous recommandons grandement !
