I had been to Wasaga Beach a few years ago but had not visited that site. It is certainly worth the visit if you are in the area. Most people seem to only see Wasaga Beach as a beach resort area. By visiting this historic site, right in the center of Wasaga Beach, I discovered its historic value and learned about events that happened right here during the War of 1812 between Canada and the "newborn" USA - specifically here, a battle between American schooners and a British ship, whose remains are in the museum. About an hour is sufficient for the visit if you dont watch the film. There are dressed-up historical characters in the museum to help you understand the site and its events of the 19th century.
