It is made in Indo-Islamic and European styles of architecture.The building is different from the rest of the Islamic architecture.The exterior of the palace is also carved with exquisite floral patterns that gives it eco-friendly appearance.It has a Sadar Manzil which served as a Hall of Public Audience during the rulling period. The gardens around the palace makes the Manzil look very beautiful..

Shaukat manzil & Sadar manzil are adjacent to each other. Shaukat manzil is open to road side and normal monument nothing much to see. It is next to Iqbal maidaan.

Shaukat Mahal used to be the erstwhile residence of the Nawab of Bhopal. Sadly the building whilst architecturally beautiful is not at all being maintained by the authorities. If one has a busy schedule in Bhopal one can give this a miss.

I went to Shaukat Mahal. Shaukat Mahal is one of the most beautiful buildings in Bhopal. The roof of the building is adorned with a series of complicated triangular-shaped arches and the exteriors have beautiful patterns, showing artistic brilliance. It is great place to go.

I so wish that the government would maintain this beautiful building. It is easy to see that this building was architecturally elegant. However, the place was locked when I went in the afternoon and the surrounding areas was filthy. It was filthy to the point that I could barely breathe with the stench and the pollution.
It was very upsetting to see our heritage thrown away like this due to lack of care by the government.

Shaukat Mahal was the seat of Nawab of Bhopal when he ruled the city. People visit it for it's architectural magnificience. The palace is a mix of Indian-Islamic and European styles. Two remarkable designs are Triangular shaped arches on the roof and floral patterns on the outer walls. The maintenance is kind of ok.

No view from inside is possible as it a Private building but from outside view is possible.Please correct the location also as it is not in Chowk Area but in front of famous IQBAL MEDIAN and very near to Sadar Manzil.A view of old architecture is possible from outside only

This is one of the old Haveli or Mahal of the erstwhile Nawab era in Bhopal.
While the architecture is impressive from a distance and it has potential of becoming a tourist heritage attraction, the place has been neglected and is not well maintained at all.
Only hope the authorities wake up to the potential/ heritage value and help restore the glory of Shaukat Mahal located in the famous Chowk area of Old Bhopal
