Lovely nature walk
jul. de 2020
This tiny park was the perfect outdoor escape for a quick walk in nature. They have some historic homes to learn about and two small walking trails - one just over a mile and one about .25 mile. We had the park to ourselves and enjoyed the longer walk and pretty marsh views!

Great quiet spot that highlights the animals and nature as a wildlife refuge should. Should check this out.

Nice place but they need better signs & benches
oct. de 2019
My husband & I were visiting friends in Westbrook so decided to stop in here. We had never been before. Our intention was to walk the blue trail since that was the shortest & we are senior citizens with arthritis so can't walk far. Well because there were no signs telling you which trail was which we ended up on the green trail. Part way down was a big round item made of stones but no sign telling us what this was. While looking at this we spotted a viewing area over to the right, so we went there but there was no signs telling you their was a viewing area there & we would have missed it if it wasn't for the fact we were looking at this round stone item. It would have been really nice if there were benches at this viewing area so we could have caught our breath. We finally got an a section where the trail split & for the first time there were blue & green markings. So of course we took the blue but now it was walking all up hill & I kept hoping there would be a bench we could sit & rest on but there wasn't.

Beautiful land for a leisurely walk. Great history info on placards and the House seems interesting, it was closed on Sunday but open Mon-Fri, so may return there.

Beautiful buildings and a easy to moderate hike

No dogs allowed. The area tends to be buggy and there is a lot of poison ivy on the sides of the trail.
The trails are beautifully kept, the views are beautiful if you walk to the water
There is a lot of history here and there are information stations.
Both times I was there, everything was closed and there was no one around.
This was a favorite place for Elenor Roosevelt
to visit.
The stone buildings are beautiful to look at .

Lovely, easy walk

The walk is easy but varied and the there are plenty of birds to see and hear. It's interesting, too, to read about how Elenore Roosevelt was once a regular visitor to the lovely stone house that sits at the start of the trail.

Good for short, easy walk

We walked the wildlife trail. However the only wildlife we saw in the early afternoon were bees on some flowers. Good picnic area and something not so strenuous, but definitely no wildlife when we went.

Nice walk about!

Nicely groomed paths and walk to the river. Parking was fine as we were the only ones there when we arrived. WHEN WE LEFT THERE WERE A FEW CARS BUT STILL PLENTY OF PARKING SPOTS.

A healthy hiking adventure!
abr. de 2016 • Familia
I discovered this place late last fall and now always make it a point to bring my 3 kids, 10, 6 and 3, at least once a month. It's an easy workout for me, but just perfect for the kids. They don't even know they're exploring is actually healthy for them! They love looking out over the wetlands in the telescope that is provided and trying to see animals. They love taking pictures during the different seasons, to see how it's changed. If I only have an hour to hang out and do something fun and free with my kids, this is perfect.
