This place was interesting. Hubbie liked it more than me. How many horse shoes can you really find interesting? But it has interesting history and charm, run by some very nice volunteers who will tell you all about its history. The old cars and wagons out the back were super cool. The whole thing certainly takes you back in time. Will only take you 5-10 minutes to have a quick look through it though. Worth a look.

A great place to see a blacksmith working in the forge, Seeing the metal being heated and shaped into something is interesting. The gift shop has many quality items.

Take a mix of dust, iron, fire and memories and you have the Doddridge Blacksmith Shop. My husband and I spent a very interesting hour with "the guys" (a charming trio of larrikins) who told us many a tale as we walked around their premises. Do not wear your best clothes as you'll come in contact with a good amount of dust - if you love to take photographs, you will be spoilt for choice..... I do... and I had a ball. This place is steeped in history (and if you need a coffee afterwards, just slip next door...the blacksmith guys reckon she makes a "pretty good cup of coffee" !

A working blacksmith on site with old pieces of works. Large bellows, old engine and heaps of horse shoes! The workshop could do with a bit of a tidy up.

History lives here in an old reluc from the past. Open for the Barossa Festival and on weekends lots of historical items plus a live blacksmith showing how it was done in olden days.

If you visit the Barossa Valley you must go to the Doddridge Blacksmith Shop. It may even be closing down soon so see it before it goes.

Thanks for your concern Azza. We, the Angaston and Penrice Historical Society Inc, have a contract to secure the Doddridge Blacksmith Shop for the community; so we will save it. We settle on December 15th 2016. As part of our ongoing fundraising we hope to build a shed out the back with grants, Council support and more donations to make it bigger and better attraction yet retain the charm of yester-year. Tell your friends we are open for business 1pm to 4pm Saturdays and Sundays.

Fun for kids to see it but I think hubby enjoyed it more. The blacksmith was friendly and chatty. Couldn't find anything to buy.😑
