I came to Asheville for a girls trip with my mom, aunt, cousin and sister before my cousin got married. She loves animals so this alpaca farm was something we couldn’t wait to go to. This was the highlight of our whole trip!!! The owner of the farm, Erin, is an amazing hostess, who is so knowledgeable about alpacas and presented the information in an enjoyable way. We didn’t think we would get up close and personal to the animals, but we all left with tons of photos of us with the animals and holding one of the babies! We could’ve listened to Erin talk about her passion for alpacas all day. We had a great time and HIGHLY recommend. Next time we’re in the Asheville/Hendersonville/Weaverville area, we will definitely visit again!

If you’re in or near the Asheville area, I *highly* recommend a visit to Last Penny Farm! It is such a special and magical experience. My family enjoyed it so much, and will treasure the memories forever! My kids cannot wait to go back again someday. The alpacas are so ADORABLE and full of personality and are so good with children. We got to learn about them, pet them, hang out with them for over an hour, feed them, and my son really bonded with one sweet girl named Lizzy, giving her all the snuggles! Erin (the owner) is the absolute BEST!!!! She’s so wonderful, friendly, sweet, kind, patient, knowledgeable - she’s a true *GEM* !! She even cleaned the mud and alpaca poopy off of our boots for us! I was happy to have the opportunity to purchase some super cute alpaca plush toys for my kids to commemorate the visit, as well as a cozy headwrap for me, knit by hand by Erin herself, with the fiber from her alpacas. She makes cute beanie hats too! So happy to support this amazing woman and her passion for alpaca farming!

My gf and I spent a fantastic hour wirh Erin and her crew. We learned so much about alpacas and the farm, interacted with the animals and had a wonderful time. Great photo opportunities and a truly educational experience. Great excursion if in Asheville ( farm about 20 min away in Weaverville) . She was knowledgeable friendly and so were her babies ( alpacas, a donkey and dog). We saw mother and baby interacting abs the whole herd following each other ( after our photo session). Highly recommend this unique once in a lifetime experience.

Erin bought us into the barn with her female alpacas. She gave us her vast amount of knowledge about them. One was pregnant and due to deliver any day and the excitement was in the air lol. At the end she took Lizzy out for us to meet and give some rubs too, she was like touching a soft stuffed animal with a velvet nose, so sweet. I can say that it was a great opportunity to see these interesting animals up close and learn about them.

Thanks Erin, hope to visit again.

My mother, good friend (Beck) and I had the best time at this alpaca farm. Erin is awesome. She has found her passion with alpacas and her love for them is a beautiful thing. I would highly recommend taking a tour of this farm. It was super informative and being at a family run farm was pretty cool. We learned a lot, got to pet the alpacas and miniature donkeys and meet a wonderful family who are following their dream. I can't wait to share this special place with my other family members and would highly recommend it to everyone. Go hug and alpaca. It will make your day. Thanks again, Erin.

We had the best time visiting the Last Penny Alpaca Farm!! We are a family of four and were joined by another family of three. Erin was a wonderful hostess, perfect tour guide, and was full of great information about alpacas, as well as the other animals on the farm, and the textile industry. The kids had an absolute blast and were able to interact with the animals. We will definitely visit again next time we are in town, as well as highly recommend to anyone else traveling this way!!

This is a great stop if you are near Weaverville. We absolutely loved visiting Erin's farm and seeing the sweetest small group of alpacas. It was perfect activity for our multigenerational group - which included grandparents, teens, tweens and a toddler. Erin is so devoted to her flock and to her craft and is willing to share her insights and knowledge about these beautiful creatures and how their fleece is used.
