Worth a stop if you like history
ago. de 2021 • Pareja
Although there is not much left standing, the baths are worth a stop if passing and if you like history. There is an informative board and you can do a short circular walk from Ravenglass that takes in the coastal path; I am fairly certain that this path runs around the outside of the Roman settlement.

A well maintained and free attraction to visit when in the area. Good information boards providing the history behind this Roman attraction.

Some of the tallest Roman remains in Britain
jul. de 2021
It is a short and easy walk from the village or the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway station. For anyone used to the Roman remains along the Roman Wall this may seem less than impressive as there isn't a lot left of the bath house, although what is left are some of the tallest Roman remains in the country. There are two information panels.

Worth finding.

Surprising to find the rubber duck of a roman, I wondered what they'd ever done for us. Now I know, they made us clean.

Hard to find but worth it

This really is a hidden treasure. Granted it’s quite hard to find. But it’s miraculously intact, and if you’re a history lover it’s worth seeing. It’s not a long journey, just one that makes you doubt you’re going in the wrong direction.

Interesting

My husband and I visited the site of the Roman baths as part of a longer walk. The site was interesting but I would not recommend a visit just to see the baths as the site is very small. Our walk took us through farm land and down to the coastal path, which sadly is very over grown and extremely muddy, not to mention crossing a very deep ditch. My husband and I are fit 70 year olds and did manage to finish our walk but it was extremely challenging. We were dismayed to find a coastal path in such a bad state.

A hidden piece of history

A pleasant walk through the woods from Ravenglas. Pleasantly surprised at the size of the site and the informative notices. Would recommend and at no cost it was worth it.

Roman bath house

Why is this not being better preserved? It is worth building around it and making it part of a museum attraction! It's the best Roman bathhouse we've visited, make more of it please!

Not much to say about the Bath House that hasn't been said before. My wife and I enjoyed the short walk here from the village, and we spent about 10 minutes at the site. Whilst there's not a great deal left you can be impressed with the brickwork that does remain, some of which defies gravity.
There's some good information boards here and it is in a lovely peaceful area.
I thought it was a worthwhile visit but I can understand why some Reviewers feel it a waste of time.
Shame that there are a few metal barricades around the Bath House presumably for protection purposes but they do spoil any "Roman" atmosphere.
