Breathtaking

Pleasant and friendly lady at the desk. Climb a little difficult at times but breath taking views from the top of the tower.
Very well organised

Interesting small church.

During our visit some of the party looked up the tower. Overall it’s small, has some interesting bits on its history etc but it will only keep you occupied for a few minutes.t

Sandwich & St Peter's; what a find!
oct. de 2019 • Pareja
We spent 4 days in a gorgeous B&B (Goss Hall) just outside Sandwich thinking the town would offer little to see or do - we just wanted to get away for a break. However Sandwich turned out to be a gem. The buildings are delightful, the history so interesting and there are more coffee shops than you can shake a stick at! The museum was small and interesting (could do with a spell checker though!) and the walks round so full of character.

St Peter's itself was again full of history. The climb through the bell tower to the top was very rewarding.

Overall a fabulous town with friendly helpful people. Wonderful.

Fascinating church, great attraction
ago. de 2019
We popped into this church as we passed by and were so glad we did. Loads to see including a chance to go up the tower and get the great views over the town. Really helpful people running the attraction as well.

Interesting church

Now maintained by Churches Conservation Trust. A beautiful old church whose tower once collapsed but you are now able to climb to the top of it and see the old bells and have great views over the magical town of Sandwich.

Not a very warm welcome
jul. de 2019 • Solitario
I visited this church on a day out in Sandwich. I didn't stay very long as the staff were not very welcoming or friendly. It's a pity as the church itself is lovely.

What a view?
ago. de 2018 • Pareja
We went for a drive while we were staying in Eythorne and stopped in the medieval town of Sandwich. I went up the church tower to get a better view of the town. The 112 steps are very narrow (only one person wide) and steep but the view from the top is worth the climb. On the way up I saw the old bells and the clock and its workings which was very interesting. This is not a working church and there is a fee to climb the tower. There is a bookstore downstairs. Once you get to the top you can pinpoint the main areas of the town from the guides you are lent as part of your admission. The view of the whole town and beyond is worth the climb. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Church Tower
jun. de 2019 • Familia
We came to sandwich for the day and saw a sign outside the church saying "climb our tower, it's fun!"

It was £3.50 for an adult and £2.50 for a child, but totally worth it.

From the tiny, ancient, winding staircase....to the old wooden structure the bells and the workings of the clock, you felt such a part of it and it's history.

There's different pieces of writing and information, and I never knew the bells were rung at night as a go ahead to let pigs I to the street to eat the days rubbish!

Then a great view of sandwich at the top.

If you visit sandwich, you must climb the tower

A real gem

If you are in Sandwich do visit St Peter's church and pay the small fee to go to the top of the bell tower. An easy climb up a spiral staircase and wooden stairs brings you to a breathtaking view of this historic town.
