I visited the Gardens on a pleasant April Saturday afternoon. I enjoyed walking back & forth between the visitor's center & Geology museum area and the duck pond & interpretative center area. I used both the main trail and a couple of the other trails. The trails were relatively level. Many plants were labeled and the many signboards gave provided good descriptions. There was plenty of free parking. Didn't see any guides or free-floating interpreters. The grounds were well maintained.
Visiting the entire gardens could happily take over 3 hours.
The geology museum was a pleasant surprise. One hour would probably be the most most people would need to enjoy this small space.

We only had an hour and a half to spend there and didn’t even see half of the gardens. The kids (8-11 age range) loved the geology museum and the trail to get there. They didn’t want to leave! It was pretty empty when we arrived at 9:30am but lots more cars in the parking lot at 11am.

I've visited many gardens and this is one of my faves. And it's free!! Can't beat that. Lots of shaded swings to relax on. Beautiful new veranda over the duck pond- perfect for kids. Beautiful paved, gravel and natural trails throughout. You could spend a whole day visiting this place; bring a lunch!

Loved the areas we could get to (some roads were closed and ALL the buildings were closed). Very peaceful area. Especially enjoyed the area around the President's commemorative wall and the caboose. Looking forward to viewing the Visitor Center, Gift Shop, and the Geology Museum once they reopen.
The day we visited was VERY hot, which made some of the garden areas too uncomfortable to visit. Choose an overcast day or a cooler spring/autumn time if you want to enjoy those.

Beautiful gardens to talk around with many places to sit and unwind. There are several different “gardens” within the gardens including a children’s garden that has a children’s book to read with the different pages of the book placed on signs around the garden. It is a great place to relax and enjoy nature or go feed the ducks at the duck pond.

Free beautiful gardens that have many paved accessible trails. Areas for children and dogs allowed in some areas. Well marked plants, several small lakes and a geological museum. A must visit if in the area. Bring a lunch and plan to spend an hour or two.

Great place to stop by while you are visiting Clemson University. The gardens are on campus. Bring the dogs and a picnic lunch and you will have a wonderful time.

I would've given it a 5 - bc it is FREE and it is really a gem. However I did find the staff to be a bit unfriendly and things are closed due to covid.

Very pretty. Was only going to walk a little but very easy walking so we ended up doing a lot more. Really enjoyed it. Not crowded. Few areas need a little tlc but nothing bad especially after Covid. Our teenager loved it. Perfect place for the whole family. Will visit again.

One if the best things about here is that you can be in the shade lots. It was a warm and humid day and we wanted to look for some birds. Not much luck, but just being able to walk outside in the shade was nice. They have plenty of maps at the beginning. They even had the cars all parked with a space between them for social distancing. There were some nice plants blooming near the entrance, but otherwise not so much. I can see this as a great place to take a quiet walk. It is worth it if you are in the area. I enjoyed it.

So we can't take a few photgraphs in our wedding attire? Even though its just the two of us and a photographer?

I am not aware of any restrictions and have seen couples taking pictures. If there is any doubt, just call SCGB. They are friendly and helpful.
