Beautiful morning walk!

A delightful walk. Wasn’t sure what to expect, but we saw some beautiful birds (roseate spoonbill, herons, etc) on aloud walk as well as the alligator! Beautiful little trail to enjoy in the morning.

We love this spot. Always some fun birds to watch and today we saw the alligator. Best in the morning but worth a trip anytime.

“Boots” the Lonely Alligator
may. de 2021 • Amigos
Worth the trip to a lovely nature park just on the edge of Port A. Lots of birds and “Boots” the only wild alligator left on the island. Loved the raised foot path and observation towers for viewing. Beware; the odors from the waste water treatment plant and the noise from the refuse plant next door can be quite distracting for such a serene place.

It’s just ok, but we did see an alligator
may. de 2021 • Familia
This is a short walk appropriate for small kids. We saw plenty of birds and a huge alligator. It is next to a water treatment plant and some sort of dump so it smells.

Very enjoyable

We had a lovely walk on the boardwalk. We were able to see numerous birds and an alligator. We loved taking photos of the birds and flowers and scenery. It was great to have a bench further along. We would recommend this to others.

Quick visit
mar. de 2021 • Pareja
I’ll start off by saying my husband and I are not ‘birders’. When we arrived here we felt really out of place with just our phones in hand. There was some serious cameras with massive zoom lenses everywhere! We could see beautiful and colorful birds in the trees taking advantage of the oranges placed on the branches. This is at the very front, then there is a boardwalk you can take past that to look over the wetlands and see the gator. I will mention that there is an aroma out on the boardwalk. Either from the stagnant water or possibly the treatment plant and what appears to be a small landfill next to it. We did enjoy the birds calling and chasing each other around. We did see the gator open his eyes, so he is alive!

Lots of birds - wonderful boardwalk
ene. de 2021
Went 4 different days and saw different birds each time. Birds are numerous and close enough to see or photograph very easily.

Lots of birds, nice long board walk, free but stinky sewage
dic. de 2020
My husband and I go to Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center every time we go to Port Aransas. A new boardwalk and viewing tower has been built since the hurricane 4 years ago. We saw lots of birds and ducks, including Roseate Spoonbills. We usually see one alligator but not this time. There is a water treatment plant next to the center so the air was very stinky. There was also some sewage near the pond. There was plenty of parking on a Friday afternoon. We spent about 30 minutes at the center. Hold your nose and see the beauty. Open 7 days a week, sunrise to sunset. It is Free.

Saw many beautiful white pelicans among other birds (late November)
nov. de 2020
Always nice to see the resident gator there hanging out like a bump on a log. This was our first time to be here during November so first time to see the migratory white pelicans (actually first time to see them since the brown ones are the ones we see here on the Gulf Coast). The Center is a bird watcher paradise - lots of different species to see.
