Is this worth visiting?
How manny days minimum for leticia?
Absolutely. Leticia is a small Colombian town that borders the mighty Amazon, Brazil and Peru. We went on a guided tour there spending 4days/3 nights. Depending what yo want to see and do will determine your time spent there. Flights do not arrive until after 12 noon the earliest and depart around 1-2pm back to Bogota. On our arrival day, we were taken for a tour around Leticia, entered Brazil's neighboring town Tabatinga where we got our first glimpse of the Amazon river. Day two was the Amazon river cruise which includes stops to a a native village of Macedonia, Isla de los Micos(squirrel monkey island), port of Narina, a Peruvian village that has an exotic animal petting zoo type set up and brackish water inlet where we spotted several pos of pink dolphins. Magical! Day three was a visit to Mundo Amazonico which is a must but you can do this between 2-3 hours vs spending half a day like we did. On the morning of our departure, we squeezed in a visit to reserva Omagua where we zip lined through the forest's canopy. We also got to see toucans and a resident pigmy marmoset.
Leticia is a great place to visit, first to start with the visit to Mundo Amazonico, this will give you all the insights you need to know for an experience in the Amazon, I spent the whole day and love it, had lunch, visit the local indigenous community and also a jungle walk, the other days you can visit all the places in the kilometers and then the river, Puerto Nariño and stay in a reserve is fantastic for a least one night.
Sure, I think is worth a visit to know a bit about plants and native amazonian culture. One afternoon should give you plenty of time to visit Mundo Amazonico. Leticia as such has not much to offer, is an small town. It is always a question wish kind of visit you plan, if you have in mind a kind of "jungle adventure" you will always be booking activities that take place outside Leticia. You have some natural parks from Brazil, Colombia and Peru to visit.
