how many hanging bridges are there?
how long does it take to hike in the private reserve with the bridges? thanks
As of January 2019 there are 3 hanging bridges. The hike will take you around 1.5-2 hours if you don’t stop, but if you stop to enjoy the hanging bridges and take lots of bird photos it will be more like 2.5-4 hours. The path is easy to walk and well maintained
We were there a few weeks ago. Only two bridges are still functioning; they haven't fixed the third. You'll likely be the only hikers - we came across two people and that was it. The path referred to earlier that connects to the National Park - I think it leads to a lake at the top of the volcano - is closed. I don't think it's open even with a guide.
thanks for the information
Flanderific is correct. We were there in January. One of their riches was destroyed by a hurricane is has not been rebuilt yet. The hike is only 45 minutes to an hour, however we did come upon a path that I think connect to the National Park and you may be able to go on further hiking that direction. We did a guided Day hike through the national forest up to the Rio Celeste waterfall while we were there. We spent 2 nights there on our trip and that was a good amount.
The hike doesn’t take long. Maybe 45 minutes, and another that takes 30 minutes on the other side of the cabins. You may wish to take longer as there were monkeys and it was cool to hang out there with them. And there was only two bridges that were functioning when we went, one was still out from the hurricane a couple of years ago.
