We stayed here for one night whilst doing the Quilotoa Loop. It’s the newest Hostal in town so it’s clean however it is definitely still going through teething problems. Pros: - clean and modern rooms - staff are friendly (it looks like it is run by a husband and wife/boyfriend and girlfriend combo) - showers are good - the communal area was nice and the fire was very warm Cons: - the food that we got included in our rate was average and we had better elsewhere on the loop - no curtains in our room. We had to ask the manager to bring in some curtains and even then they were basically a waste of space - we’d heard some negative things from locals beforehand. Apparently they stayed there and never got their breakfast because the owners had gone out the night before and got drunk, so weren’t able to cook them food (obviously this is second hand information) Finally, it’s worth noting that the trip advisor profile for this Hostal says the rooms have room service, a casino, minibar and fridge in room etc. This is not correct. It has none of those things. …
