Everything was perfect ! Brand new hotel. Rooms are very well decorated, I felt at home immediately. Located in a small alley, you are in the heart of the village and you can walk around and see how locals live. The food was delicious and the staff very helpful. They can organize shuttle from and to Hanoi or Pu Luong. Free bicycles to go to the nearby fields. Bonus, a nice and large swimming pool ! I ll be definitely back.
Its the perfect place to enjoy Mai Chau, beautiful view, quiet, the hosts are really nice and helpfull. If you are lazy to go out and have food outside they offer food which was ok and with veggies from their own garden and at good price. Bfast was nice with fresh fruits, egg, bread and juice with coffee or tea.
| The Short | Although set in a lovely location this is not the place to go if you want a quiet get away. People drink lots and openly smoke and the staff of the homestay join in, happily serving rice wine to people all night. The food is poor and there is little consideration for other guests. I do not recommend this for families. | The Long | The homestay is in a lovely location out in the rice fields. Their are bicycles to explore the local area and the wifi is excellent. The owner was friendly when welcoming us but aside from this our experience at this homestay was really poor. On the first night there was a group of travellers who had decided to make the hotel into a party zone. They decided to play music on their bluetooth speaker without caring from anyone else's conversation. They continuously drank beer and smoked progressively getting louder as the evening went on. The language the group used was disgusting. The staff did nothing to stop this and participated in the drinking as well as serving rice wine to the group. The group returned at 1am after having been out partying, and continued to make excessive noise. The staff did nothing about this (despite sitting with them) resulting in us having to address the problem ourselves and ask them to be quiet having been woken up. On the second night the same group continued to drink and smoke and swear consistently the language they used was atrocious. Once again, the noise levels rose and the staff did nothing to stop this. Again they serve rice wine to the group and joined in. The group returned at 1am and woke us up and then proceeded to drink beer into the early hours with little regard towards other guests. The staff did nothing to stop this. The staff seem uninterested in making other guests happy and focused on the noisy and big groups ensuring they are happy even if this is at the cost of other guests. The staff seem to believe it is not their responsibility to control the noise and feel as though they can do nothing about it. The staff did try to apologise but it felt a little half hearted. The rooms themselves have beds that are rock solid and are extremely uncomfortable. There is no insulation meaning rooms are cold (we had to sleep in a fleece). Also the rooms have no soundproofing so you can hear everything that is happening, from the road traffic going by to the people talking in the restaurant. The dorm room is above one of the private rooms so you can hear people walking around upstairs. The food served is the restaurant is poor and also breakfast was Pho Bo. One served extremely spicy which I couldn't eat, when I told the owner he didn't replace it and insisted it wasn't that spicy. The restaurant served fried rice/noodles for 40k/50k VND and does set meals for between 150k-220k VND per person. Overall, the homestay has a party vibe (lots of drinking and smoking) and is keen on allowing groups to be noisy regardless of the time of night or if other guests are sleeping. The are no quiet hours. The beds are uncomfortably and the food was poor. This was a hugely disappointing stay and we didn't enjoy it. I would not stay here if you want a quiet night in the rice fields or if you have children. …
This is a homestay with a lot of work and love behind each service they offer. You can tell they really want you to feel comfortable since the first moment. The family who owned -and have built each space with their own hands- are super friendly and take good care of you with their attention and their meals. Truong, we miss you :)
A really good and frindly Family. The view is wow! The food is fresh (someone Order chicken and john go with the scooter to the place where he have his chicken (so he killed one)) really fresh :) ruou (snap) is for free! Go there, its nice!
