Had a great time at the lodge. I can’t wait to return. This is a fisherman’s lodge not a Cabo resort if you love to fish halibut and salmon you’ll love this place! We caught fish at 40-200 feet Halibut salmon bears glaciers and eagles all self guided

If you have your own gear and know these waters well then it’s an OK place. If your a first time fisherman to the area then it’s going to suck. Didn’t give any guidance on how and where to go to catch fish. Provided minimal equipment that’s not updated or in working condition. We wasted 2 days fishing until other guests were kind enough to teach and show us where to fish. Management doesn’t interact at all with guests and seemed upset to be there. The dock hands and cook are great. But the dock hands are all new to they area so knowledge is limited.

My first trip to Alaska with my husband and friend. Our friend booked this resort. We were really looking forward to good fishing but were sadly disappointed. The rustic cabins were cute but dirty. Seriously dirty bathroom with at least 4 bars of leftover soap from previous occupants, filthy sink, and unswept floors. The boats were in poor condition as was the equipment. They advertise that you can fish close by in shallow waters but that is not true. We were sadly disappointed with the amount of fish we brought home. The fish was not frozen at all when we arrived home. The food was pretty good. The other guests made the trip memorable. Most agreed never to return to this resort but enjoyed each other’s company. The workers were great. The Owners on the other hand were only seen when you first got there and handed over your money. The Owners do not care about the guests experience at all just about the money. Too bad because the location is beautiful.

Lousy filthy boats poorly equipped;worst poles, tackle&bait. Radios&motors often didn't work. No instruction. They said "the boat will not sink completely because it has foam in it"broken tackle boxes.

Green Rocks Lodge is exactly as advertised. My buddy and I were looking for a self-guided fishing experience in Alaska where a decent fisherman can use his skills to catch some fish and enjoy the beauty of Alaska. We booked a week with Green Rocks and loved it. We returned again last year and are looking forward to our third trip this coming summer. The owners are great, they want you to catch fish and enjoy your stay. The accommodations are nice, beds are comfortable, the food is great and plentiful. The boats are well maintained and the fishing can be great. Fishing the protected waters of SE Alaska is a joy. We came home with 150 lbs of Salmon and Halibut this last year. I don't know how my family can eat it all. There are several lodges in the general area that are comparably priced but when you find a lodge where the staff takes that extra time to prepare your boat in the morning, loaded with fresh bait, cares for your catch when you return, feeds you like a king and at the end of your trip booking for a week the next year is a forgone conclusion you have found the right Lodge. Check out Green Rocks Lodge, you will not be disappointed.
