I want to give an honest and balanced review but I’m finding it hard to give any information that is positive, ok maybe the price. When we arrived it was like driving into someone’s yard. The small “bungalows” are surrounded by an attempt of a garden filled with garbage everywhere. We were met by a lady who appeared from nowhere. She asked me for the cash to pay for the room. I asked her a question, but unfortunately she didn’t speak any English and telephoned another person who did. I asked her where reception was. There wasn’t any. I asked her if she wanted to see passports. No they didn’t. They just wanted the cash for the room. I paid the lady. She showed us a room and gave us a key. As soon as she had gone we left the key on the bed and left. There was no way I was staying here. There were insects dead and alive on the walls, the curtains were filthy, the whole appearance just put me off. If you want value for money and you don’t care what your surroundings are like then 650tbh is a steal of a price. Unfortunately I like a little more luxury, and should have realised that the price reflected the standard.…
We booked in advance and when we arrived they wanted cash so we paid up they showed us a room which was horrible then they showed us a better one but after they had left us we looked around it really was the pits. So we left and put it down to experience what a dump.
Driving through Tropical Storm Pabuk, we stopped here to hunker down, most of the Storm had gone by and we took this booking in off-chance it would be a nice Thai style accommodation. We arrived and there was a live fish flopping on the path, kinda funny, but hey, there was a Storm. We went into the rooms, no serious locks on windows, the bathroom had no ventelation there was dirty water in a 100 litre bucket behind the bathroom door next to the shower. There was aircon, that clicked on and off noisily during the night and the bugs, OMG the bugs everywhere. There were animals fighting on our roof during the night and large bangs. The highway is very close, so it was truck noises all night. The staff were very nice, the breakfast was good and inexpensive, but we cut our two days short and left after one night. We drove to Ranong and will not stay at that hotel again, really it is just a motel. It is run-down and lacking good access paths for getting to the pool etc. the breakfast area looks like a family storage/laundry space. People of Chumphon are very nice hosts and it is a lovely off the beaten track kinda stop. …
