One of the best travel experiences we've ever had! I traveled here with a friend in December 2022, and was blown away by the Lodge, the views, the activities, and most of all the people! Agustin, Roberto, Nico, and some of the volunteers (Dani and Elizabeth) made the experience so much fun, and there was never a dull moment during the tours.
We booked the 4 day, 3 night Amazon experience and would highly recommend this to anyone looking to book an Amazon all inclusive in Ecuador.
The lodge is peaceful and quiet, and you'll have plenty of time to relax in the evenings after daily tours and supper.
Just keep in mind, that this is the Amazon rainforest, so even though the lodge is spectacular, this is not Disneyland. This is the real deal, so be prepared, and bring bug spray, sunscreen, long socks (for rubber boots), rain ponchos, flashlights, long sleeves, pants et.. Come with an open mind and be adventurous - there are a lot of opportunities during the tours to get out of your comfort zone. So, eat the lemon ants, jump off the rope swing, and dive into the river for a swim! ;)
This was possibly the BEST part of our entire trip to Ecuador, and we went to Quito, Galapagos, and Montanita. It's truly that special.
If you're looking to book an Amazon tour, then look no further - this is THE one!

Possibly the best experience my boyfriend and I have had in our 2 months of travel. The room is clean, spacious and, because of the high ceilings, still cool even though there is no airconditioning. Augustine (the owner) is a wonderful person who seems to care a lot about his guests and volunteers. He even gave us some tips for our visit in Quito afterwards. We booked a 3 nights/4 days (package) for a very reasonable price. We saw one of the other lodge and they were huge… We loved that this was a bit smaller, more personal and comfortable. We did a few tours, with one of the volunteers as a translator. At one point one of the tours didn’t go quite as planned, however, Augustine was able to resolve it quickly and in a creative manner. The tours were all a succes. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The meals provided were delicious and made from scratch every time. If there was one small thing that could’ve been better, it was that they listed cocktails but had just run out of the supplies. Since it was in low season they didn’t have as much on hand. This was a very very small thing, and we didn’t really find it a problem but honestly we couldn’t think of anything else to improve.

After having had some stressful days in Quito, GAIA Lodge was exactly what I was looking for: A calm and peaceful place in the middle of the Amazonian jungle.
My three days tour package program was the perfect mix between relaxation and jungle adventure. Everything was perfectly organized and I did not have to worry about anything - although I made the reservation just one day in advance.
If I had to choose one thing, I liked the most, I would not be able to do so. The whole stay was amazing. I was safely picked-up and dropped-off at my hostel in Quito. I liked the delicious food served on GAIA Lodge's terrace with view on Río Napo as well as the tour program including walks in the jungle, canoe boat trips, the visit of an indigenous folk and an animal rescue center as wel as a chocolate workshop. Moreover, I enjoyed sleeping in my room at night while being able to listen to the sounds of the Amazonian jungle sourrounding us, or just taking a nap on my hammock at my terrace.
I would like to express a big thank you to the whole GAIA Amazon EcoLodge team that made this stay such amazing as it was.
Gracias a Roberto, our excellent tour guide who shared his valuable knowledge about the Amazonian flora and fauna with us and always brought us back safely after our excursions. Gracias a Nico, our Canoe boat driver, who navigated us perfectly across el Río Napo. Muchas gracias to the kitchen team that provided us every day with such an incredibly delicious food and prepared some extra specialities for me due to my dietary restriction.
Agustín, the administrator of the lodge, created with GAIA Lodge a real paradise on earth. Now, it's on you to experience it by yourself!
I, personally, really hope being able to come back some day.

A beautiful lodge with relaxing athmosphere, friendly stuff and delicious food. Me and my boyfriend got 3 days package which provided everything including excursions. Amazing value for money, I would highly recommend to everybody.

I went in August 2022 with my girlfriend to the Gaia Amazon EcoLodge and it has been one of the best experiences ever. We both had never been in the Amazons before and especially for myself it was a bit out of the comfort zone (because of a slight fear for insects). However, from the moment you arrive till the moment you leave, the crew in the lodge makes sure that you fall in love with nature, beyond a point that I could have ever imagined.
- The activities were great: every morning and every afternoon you go on an adventure with your guide. Our guide, Delfin, is definitely one of the great assets of the lodge, because he really is the type of person who can make an adventure like this the ultimate experience. He has a lot of experience with the jungle and he knows how to survive for five days in the primary forest on his own. Together with him, we not only had a lot of fun, but also felt save during every adventure. You go with Captain Nico on his boat over the river and you land at different places to hike through different types of nature. It really is an incredible experience - also for the monkeys that kept following us. - We don't speak English ourselves, but the lodge takes care of a translator. Our translator, Mena, was really great. Both she and Delfin made our stay really fantastic. - The facilities are everything you can wish for. The owner of the lodge made clear as well from the start that we shouldn't walk with our shoes inside: this desire for hygiene is very comforting for people who are afraid of having any bugs in their room. We had none, it was always very clean. Sleeping is an experience on its own, because the crickets form an incredible orkest during the night. - The management of this lodge is also great. Augustine has a big passion for his lodge and his guests, but at the same time he's occupied with the preservation of the forrest. He fights for the forrest, such that no companies/ miners ever get the chance to take advantage of what the nature has to offer and then destroy it. - The food is really great as well. The lodge prepares breakfast, lunch and diner every day and it's very good. - The mix between doing activities/ having time to rest is perfect. In the evenings you are always free.
I love to travel, but this place got a special place in my heart and mind for sure. Both me and my girlfriend felt sad to leave after four days. In those four days, you have such an intense experience, and this intense experience was 10/10 for us. We will come back one day and I would recommend it to everyone to at least go once to this place. Not only the experience of the activities is great, you learn a lot about the nature, you meet a Quechua family (they live in the middle of the Amazon), you learn about animals and it simply changes your perspective on live if you're not used to be so close to nature (which I'm not as someone who's from The Netherlands, Amsterdam). If you find out how the owners of this lodge are fighting to preserve the Amazons, you will be even more happy that every dollar spend on this experience is double worth it.

We have interpreters.
Our guides are native guides with years of experience, but normally they speak Spanish and Kichwa (native language) however they speak clearly and paused Spanish we have interpreters in the lodge for tourist that don´t speak any Spanish. You just need to confirm your requieremet in advance and we organize it.

Hi Douglas, This is not my lodge but we were guests there. While it is true that there is more "virgin" jungle to be accessed we found our experience here to be quite immersive. We are seasoned hikers living in the Sierra Nevada in CA with the inclination to jump in rivers, explore beaches, and have adventures. This lodge was plenty "on the edge" for us in all of these regards and we had ample adventures. If you are confident you want a "deeper" jungle experience, the owner of this lodge can probably put you in touch with those who do the week-long-plus-with-beach-camping types of excursions.
