The house itself is wonderful it's spacious with big bedrooms, nice bathrooms and comfortable furniture and VERY clean. There are plenty of bath towels and beach towels. There are 4 beach chairs and a few camping chairs. The kitchen has lots of plates, bowls, glasses, silverware and plenty of pots and pans. There is not however, a single sharp knife, or even a remotely sharp knife. I did buy a very inexpensive one that did served it's purpose but due to the quality is probably already as dull as the others. Also the only supplies in the house were: salt, pepper, small container of peanut butter, 2 packets of Splenda, 2 flashlights that needed new batteries, 1 roll of paper towel, dish soap, cleaning supplies under the sink but no broom, 4 rolls of toilet paper (2 each bathroom), lights with burned out lightbulbs and none to replace them and a gas grill with an empty gas tank. Also we had no hot water when we arrived and none until the following the day. Edgar seems like a very nice man but gave almost no information about the house (like where the flashlights are, the towels, snorkles etc) and replied to only of our calls, the one about no hot water. The other were, "where are the snorkels?" His reply was "I know there are some there." , "Is there an iron?", no reply. I called 3 times about the water flowing into the bedroom, across the bathroom floor and into the hall because the shower wouldn't drain and go no reply. I had to call Lizette and it couldn't be fixed (we tried ourselves) until the following day.
I must reiterate though that the house itself is comfortable, CLEAN, the neighbors are very nice, the neighborhood, although it appears sketchy in some parts, is not sketchy at all and is quite safe. The walk to SunBay is about 15-20 mins when carrying chairs etc. The big grocery store to get all of the supplies that there isn't enough of or condiments etc, is in Isabell II. There are smaller stores in walking distance that do have some of the basics.
Call ahead to schedule taxi from airport if necessary. We didn't have a car, which in my opinion is a necessity, but were lucky enough to find a fantastic taxi driver. He is bilingual,
friendly, PROMPT!, and made himself available for us. Once in 7 days was he not available but took it upon himself to call someone else for us.
His name is Ruebin and his # is 787-918-5664.
I would stay at Casa Luna Llena again. I was specific about the things that were lacking so you could be prepared when you arrive. Maybe go to the grocery store while on that side of the island?
