Stayed at Villa Somoya for a couple weeks over Christmas/New Years. This house has it all, the view, amenities, the solitude and privacy. The huge patio on the Tortola side of the house is unbelievable, you could just almost live outside. The patio and deck on the other side of the house has a dreamy wind that blows all day which helps to keep things cool at night and during the day while just sitting or reading. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need for cooking and entertaining, plus a large outdoor grill and a beverage refrigerator on the large outdoor patio. The owners have thought of everything. The house is within a short drive to food shopping, the beaches down at Spring Bay and an assortment of restaurants. Beach chairs, an umbrella and plenty of beach towels are available for your beach day pleasures. Pack light, Villa Somoya has a washer and dryer at your disposal. Sit out on the lower patio at night with all of the lights off and look at the stars, quite a sight. Make sure you plan some evenings out to Coco Maya, Che Bamboo, Sugarmill and Hog Heaven. For lunch make sure you go to the Mad dog for sandwiches and cocktails, tell Edith that Charlie sent you. Christy will make sure that you are acquainted with the amenities in the house and Margaret will help you keep it clean. Take a day trip out to Anegada to see the pick flamingo's and some of the largest unspoiled beaches you will ever see. If you are adventurous, rent a boat over at Leverick Bay Watersports and go island hopping, you can get a captain if you need one, visit Foxy's and Soggy Dollar over on Jost VanDyke, go snorkeling at the Indians, visit the Willy T, Peter and Cooper Islands. All in all, if you are looking for a great place to stay on Virgin Gorda, whether you want to sight see, go to the beaches or just relax and do nothing, Villa Somoya will not disappoint.
