My husband and I just recently stayed at the Ocean Spray with our 5 adult children. We had a wonderful trip!
Shawn is a great host. He was very quick to respond to any questions I had prior to our trip. He was also very accessible during our stay to help us out with a couple of things we needed.
The pool is great. It is in a very private location. It is a good size and temperature and is 7 ft deep at one end so nice for adults to use.
The home is right across the street from a small beach. This is not a great beach to sunbathe on. The location where the sand is exposed is quite rocky in the water. There are concrete steps down to the water where the parking lot is. If you enter the water at this spot, it is very sandy The water is shallow for quite a distance out and there is a semi-circle of rocks that offer protection from the waves. It was a great spot to cool off in the ocean.
The view is amazing! This was my favorite part of the property. It is right on the ocean and there are decks on all three levels that have spectacular views. There is a pretty busy road that runs right in front of the property and this does take away some of the enjoyment of the view, but it is still absolutely beautiful.
I highly recommend hiring Shawn's driver. Brenoid was such a pleasure to deal with. He was always prompt with pickup and had great suggestions for places to go.
There are pros and cons with the location. The listing clearly states that this property is in a residential neighborhood, however, there really is nothing to do within walking distance. It was necessary to have the driver pick us up every time we wanted to go out and it took at least 15 minutes to get to any restaurant or activity. Just for a reference, one night three of my kids wanted to stay longer than the rest of us at a bar at the Atlantis and took a taxi back. It cost them $70. While it is nice to be away from the hectic downtown area, we did get a little tired of needing transportation for absolutely everything.

The photo and description says we are renting a villa, which would have justified the extremely overpriced price! However when we arrived there was only half a villa! Because the landlord himself lives in the other half! It was an old house inside and just newly painted on the outside. It stinks of mildew without end in the small uncomfortable seating area at the very entrance. But he advertises for 12 people. There would never be room for the 12 guests in the small half of the house! There is a bedroom with a bathroom that needs renovation (water damage to the closet), rusted fittings. Everything is carelessly set up like in a bachelor pad. We also found more than 3 dead cockroaches and one live one in the kitchen, beds and sleeping area. The house is as is and in need of renovation and should not be rented out for the price! However, the hammer is the completely restricted (very sloping ceiling) on the 3rd floor (attic conversion), in which we found 4 double beds next to each other, like in a reception camp! And another double air mattress! No seating area, or closet and the harshness, two completely unfaired huge motors for the house air conditioner, which were loud and horrible to see in the attic. This is not a bedroom! The bed linen was also partially uncleaned and smelled of use. Everything like in an old house where a grandma is dying. The owner was always friendly. But that cant help! We feel cheated!!!

Wonderful house and location close to the beach. Plenty of room for all 8 women to gather. Private location with pool and beach across the street. Shawn is wonderful! Fast with responses and requests (we had plenty:). Gave multiple ideas for dinner spots, beaches and shopping.

The property was well kept, clean, and spacious. I would say best for about 10 people. Sean the owner was GREAT!! the driver is definitely a must. Great views of the sunrise from the balconies. Much better deal than hotels for sure. Check in / out was very easy and flexible, we had to do nothing. Thanks Sean and Don for a great memorable vacation.

Ocean Spray is exactly as advertised! The house is very spacious and has all the necessities required. Lovely clean home in a quiet residential area away from the bustle of the city across the road from the beach, with wonderful views of the sunrise from the balconies. Shawn is an excellent host. He made everything easy from a flexible checkin and out to even driving us to get groceries I highly recommend hiring Shawn’s driver, Brenoid. He was available whenever we needed him, always arriving promptly. He has a large (12 passenger van) that can accommodate your group and luggage. Even provided an infant car seat for our stay. His fee included airport pickup and drop off, gas, tolls, mileage etc. Overall our family had a wonderful vacation made special by Shawn’s assistance and recommendations. We will look forward to returning!

We had the best week in Nassau! We took our 4 kids with us from Texas. It’s our 3rd time to the Bahamas and it was nice to stay outside the resorts. The property was as described. When we arrived, Shawn had it all Cleaned and smelling fresh. It’s an awesome location near the beach and a very clean private pool. My favorite things as a mom is as the washer and dryer and the kitchen was set up perfectly with the right tools to cook during our stay. The third level was perfect for my 4 kids as it had 4 queen beds set up in their own private space! They loved it. Lots of towels were available as well. Shawn also saved the day with coffee filters one morning as I forgot to pick those up from the market. The biggest plus was having his private driver Brenoid. He made the travel around the island easy and took us to the market to shop right as we came Into the island. My kids and I miss Brenoid already. He’s super patient and knows all the good places to visit. Can’t thank both these guys enough for making our stay in the Bahamas so fun and special.

This house was perfect for two couples and their kids. All the beds are king size which matters to us. The 5 girls were able to share the 3rd floor loft. That being said, you will be sharing a bathroom with whoever is on that 3rd floor. This is not a problem for our family. The pool is great place to unwind from a day out on the beach, excursion or sightseeing. Having the beach across the street was so convenient. We spent 3 of our days lazing in that beautiful inlet. We found so many beautiful shells and treasures. Such a relaxing experience. We hired Berniod for our driver for the week and it was a great decision! He is so kind, funny and laidback. Our car Karaoke will be a cherished memory from this trip. :-) His taste in music was on point and made our drives so much fun! Katy Perry will never be the same!
