We spent three enjoyable days either staying on-site or visiting nearby areas including eating out. All of the local places were found on Clematis Cottages website. Richard was very engaging on our arrival and showed us around the cottage and grounds and we were pleasantly surprised how very little was out-of-bounds. We were even encouraged to pick herbs from the garden. Both Richard and Kaye were very helpful and attentive hosts and they always responded promptly to any of our requests or queries. There were plenty to occupy ourselves on-site. It's a haven for the nature lovers amongst us and the provision of games and sports equipment provided amusement for when we wanted to be more active. Hollyhock Cottage had old-world charm and was clean. Everything was there for your comfort - especially the sofas!

I've lost track the amount of times we've stayed at Clematis Cottages. It's so amazing we just keep coming back! We couldn't think a better place to have our wedding so we were thrilled when Kaye & Richard agreed to host our wedding on their property - it was nothing short of magical. We were able to stay in the cottages for our wedding weekend and everything was beyond our expectations. It was the perfect spot to host a large group of family, gathering for meals in the garden, ample parking, lots of room to spread out or be together. The host were exceptional as per usual, going above and beyond to make our stay super special.

Richard and Kaye were so friendly and helpful from the moment we booked right up until the moment we handed the keys back at the end of our 3 night family retreat at Clematis Cottage. We were greeted and shown around the grounds and cottage by Richard and Kaye who kindly treated us to complimentary fresh eggs and some of their home made honey! ~ delicious, thank you! Our stay in the beautiful cottage was perfect for our family of 6; 4 of us taking the two comfy bedrooms upstairs. The downstairs ground floor double bedroom (with full shower bathroom next door) was an added bonus and truly appreciated by the Grandparents. Everything about the cottage was in great condition and of a high standard. There was ample equipment in the kitchen, living room, bathrooms, even towels and the beds were made up for our arrival. There was everything you needed and lovely little personal touches here and there. The children (plus myself and husband) particularly enjoyed the table tennis just outside the cottage and the huge front garden acted as a perfect pitch for a few very competitive games of boules and throwing a frisbee, followed by a lovely stroll passed the huge duck pond back to the cottage! All in all, from my tone, its no surprise to say that I would highly recommend visiting Hollyhock/Clematis Cottages. **Their homemade piccalilli is to die for!!

Having recently stayed at Hollyhock cottage (one of the clematis cottages with the annex, throughout all our dealings with Richard and Kaye, we were very impressed with the friendlyness and quality of communication throughout. This continued into when we visited. Both Richard and Kaye were very warm, welcoming and around in case we needed anything, but not intrusive at all. The cottages themselves have incredibly well kept gardens and outdoor space, and the properties are in an outstanding condition. While the ceilings upstairs are a bit low, this is part of the traditional stylings of the building, and wasn't an issue. The kitchen has what you need - plenty of glasses, mugs, plates and cuttlery, as well as also having a dishwasher which was a very nice addition. There was a large Fridge-Freezer too. When staying, I heavily reccomend trying the honey from the beehives onsite. This is definitely where we will be trying to book next time we visit Stamford.

Nestled in the remote hamlet of Aunby north of Stamford, Lincs, Hollyhock Cottage was everything our family of 3 generations were looking for. With the A1 being so close, we were able to get out and about with ease. Plenty of space within the accommodation as well as the well kept grounds. Very large field enabled cricket, football, kite and drone flying. There was also a full size ping pong table which was well used during the week. Richard and Kate were very friendly and welcoming and had thought of everything to make our stay stress free. They even provided us with egg and honey from their garden.

We had a wonderful weekend stay in Hollyhock Cottages 1 & 2. The accommodation was perfect for our 2 families with a lovely welcome from Kaye. Kids (big and small!) enjoyed the table tennis and the location was excellent for days out to Stamford and Rutland Water.

We had a fantastic weekend away at Clematis Cottages, the property is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. We were a group of university friends with our families, and the accommodation suited 4 families The cottages were ideal and very comfortable. Richard and Kaye were very welcoming and had great knowledge of the area - ask Richard to have a honey tasting which we all enjoyed. He will also show you his bee hives.They give great recommendations for walks and local pubs. We also enjoyed playing table tennis. We would highly recommend the cottages and hopefully will return.

Very family friendly with ducks and hens, a den and large play area for the little kids - and the 'bigger' kids for table tennis, frisbee, squirty water pistol fights and a great bbq area. The house was set up to make our stay very comfortable (home from home) with freshly gathered eggs waiting for our breakfast the next day. The honey tasting was excellent. We'll want to visit again one day, I'm sure!

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage for 3 nights. Only a short drive outside of Stamford and close to Rutland water. The cottage had all the facilities you need for a self catering stay. It was clean, comfortabld and presented to a high standard. The gardens were beutiful and the owners were very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

The location is quite and amazing- the perfect place if you need some peace and quiet to relax and recharge. Great family friendly cottage with all the comforts one needs. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. We have a welcome pack of fresh organic eggs and honey from the cottage hens and bees they keep. Huge grounds for walking around and relaxing by the pond with a book for a picnic. Lots to do with8n the grounds if you don’t want to venture into town. Yet it just 10 minutes from Stamford city centre. Will definitely visit again.
