I have booked the simply wonderful Spice of Life 3 times over the last 5 years (once at Christmas, in July 2014 and once for Carnival in summer last year). I am hoping to book again for this Christmas, hence coming here to look at dates and decided to leave the review it deserves!
The location is perfect, in the upmarket neighbourhood of Lance aux Epines, only 15 minutes from the airport, beaches and shops. It is quiet and refined here, and the villa is like a home from home.
Spice of Life is spacious, well appointed and oh my! The views from the pool over the bay are unbelievable. You will definitely want to enjoy a cocktail and evenings here on the lovely terrace! The beautiful wrap around windows in the large lounge are the perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenery and cooling breezes.
I find the villa extremely welcoming and comfortable, from the sumptuous master suite, to the shelves full of books and the well equipped kitchen. There is car parking, a lovely garden, terrace and the pool on different levels. It has a tasteful and relaxed feel, and I really enjoy spending time here.
The local management company went out of their way when we locked ourselves out during one visit, and were always on hand to answer questions and help. The owners themselves responded quickly to my various queries and couldn't have been nicer. It seems every reviewer raves about Miss B - the enigmatic and charming housekeeper. She looked after us beautifully on each visit, such a warm and friendly person (and yes, ask her to make you the local speciality oil down - yum!).
The house and grounds were well looked after, and kept immaculate during each of my stays.
Grenada itself is a wonderful island, a true taste of the Caribbean, relaxed, friendly, authentic and beautiful! There is so much to see and do. I can't rate it highly enough, even having visited other islands, I keep coming back here, and to the Spice of Life. Both are extremely special, and if you are lucky enough to visit you will see why!
