We visited for two weeks in April 2018, the cottage is in a nice quiet area just outside of Newport town, it is clean, has two TV sets which have free view satellite and local channels via terrestrial tv, but tbh tv is the last thing on your mind as you are surrounded by great scenery,
Mountains etc, we tended to use Nevins for the odd meals, but the food was muuuum fantastic, served by great friendly people try it yourself,
There are other eateries and places for a tea or coffee in Newport, they have a reasonably good supermarket there,Bridgeport has several of the biggersuper markets.
But the people you will find are so friendly and helpful, Paddy who owns the cottage came from Galway to a couple of meetings, and afterward we met up with him and he took us for a coffee, he is a very very nice guy,a character he would say,
Just get out and explore you will find your own special places, and memories
, you must catch the chip van which comes twice a week, don’t ask for large cod it’s enormous it really is.
If you get a chance visit Parade in George’s street Newport, they do a nice Tea and Coffee plus 🍰 cake, also gifts, art well all sorts, and the lady is very nice and helpful, plus you pickup all the gossip, we really enjoyed our tie at Paddies place, Church View,we hope to go again soon.
