We stayed here for a week in August with a big group. We rented the guest house also which was a great place for the teens that were with us. The cabin accomodated all of us very well. Everyone had room to sleep and there are ample bathrooms!! We were never bored! We spent the week swimming in the water by the dock (water is soooo clear), riding trails with Rangers and 4 wheelers, and lots of fishing! We ran into Walker for some shopping and pizza a few times. We can't wait to come back here.

The Hideaway was the perfect location for our vacation this year! House was absolutely gorgeous and the owners were very prompt at getting back to us on a couple questions we had! We caught a lot of fish! Can't wait to vacation there again!!!!

This lake house is amazing!!! My family and I had the most fantastic vacation!!! I would definitely come here again! The property is fantastic! The house is very spacious, clean and cozy. We had nine people and there was ample room. Love being in the woods and no one complained about the stairs. (Great exercise) Just take it slow if you have to. This place provides EVERYTHING you need for your lake fun! We brought lake floaties and didn't really need them because they were already provided! They had one kayak (small) and a paddle boat. They even provide fishing poles! There was a pontoon at our disposal ($100/day) to use when/if we needed it. Nice treat! The water was so clear and clean.......so refreshing! I have NO negative comments about this place! We all had a blast and next time I'm taking 2 weeks off for vacation! Haha!! It was truly hard to leave this beautiful place!!!

We had a wonderful 4 nights at the Hideaway. The house was spotless, the beds comfortable, the bathrooms large and the kitchen had everything we needed. We loved sitting outside on the deck over looking the lake - such a pretty view. It was the perfect place for us. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us.

Life gets too busy for our family - 13 of us from age 17 to 79, so that we rarely all get together. Our week at the Hideaway provides a fantastic family renewal and closeness as we play yard games, card games, water sports and fishing. A few trips for shopping in Walker provide souvenir memories for the rest of the year. The large comfortable gathering space is great for conversation and there is plenty of room to enjoy our group meals. The deck is spacious and a great place to play cards or just relax in the outdoors. Yard games were played on the grassy back yard which provided a perfect spot for our annual fish fry of Ten Mile Lake walleye, bass and crappie. There are fun photo ops at Akeley’s Paul Bunyan and Hackensack’s Lucette Diana Kensack, Paul’s girl friend. The short trip to Itasca State Park to walk across the tiny Mississippi River and gift shop/museum is a great experience too. The Big Dipper ice cream is tops and was visited a few times. In the past year the folks who own the property have added touches that give the property a homey feel and improvements like electric to the dock to charge the trolling motors. They are very concerned that our rental experience is enjoyable and they were very successful in doing just that!

We all enjoyed the accommodations and spent a wonderful amount of time on the deck. We would highly recommend the Hideaway and would definitely rent it again if we travel back to the area. The lake water is gorgeous and loved seeing the loons, eagles, herons and pelicans. Thank you!

It was a wonderful place, totally equipped. The only downfall was the stairs but we managed fine. Beautiful surroundings. GREAT..

We stayed with 3 families and we all had plenty of room. We got to the cabin just before we got a blizzard back home. The beds all slept wonderfully!! We spent a lot of time playing games around the huge kitchen table and sitting on the huge couch watching Netflix. We felt right at home!!! The kids went sledding outside and had a blast! We brought a lot of our own stuff, but wouldn't have had to. The cabin was nicely stocked. We really want to come back in the summer so we can fish and swim in the lake!!!!
