The private, secure, gated neighborhood is bounded on one side by Grandfather Mountain and on the other by Julian Price Memorial Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Only minutes from Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Linville, and the Parkway, the location is convenient to golf resorts, shopping, Appalachian State University, Tweetsie Railroad, fine restaurants, ski resorts, horseback riding, fly fishing, and hiking on Grandfather Mountain, Linville Gorge, Pisgah National Forest and the Julian Price and Moses Cone Parks. It's the perfect location for all your favorite High Country activities...including curling up on the screened porch to read or stretching out in the hammock to nap! Road access to the cabin is maintained year-round and the driveway is level with a large parking area. The 4,200 foot elevation makes for cool summers and cold, snowy winters, so a 4WD vehicle is recommended during winter (November-April). The cabin has approximately 2,000 square feet on three levels with 2 large bedrooms, a sleeping loft, 2 full baths, living room, dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, wireless internet, and a covered front porch with rocking chairs and a porch swing. A large open rear deck offers year round views of Hawksnest Mountain from the large Jacuzzi-brand hot tub located just outside the master bedroom. A screened porch off the main living area and adjacent to the open deck is fully furnished with a small table for eating or gaming, as well as Adirondack chairs, director's chairs, a rope hammock, and a hammock chair. The main living area, beautifully furnished with heart pine floors and a cathedral ceiling, has a large sofa, 2 side chairs, a 40" flat screen LCD television with 250 channels as well as a Roku player, a stereo, a library stocked with paperback and hardback books and hiking/tourist maps and a selection of games and puzzles, a stone wood burning fireplace and a drop leaf game table. As part of the grand room, the dining area's large pine table has seating for 8. The loft has two twin beds and overlooks the main living area. In the master bedroom is a queen bed and sitting area, and there are sliding French doors affording a wonderful view of Hawksnest beyond the deck with the hot tub. The lower level bedroom has a queen bed, a queen sized futon, a sitting area with a TV, a folding game table and chairs, and a private bath. Also on the lower level is the laundry facility. There is a full bath on both the main and lower levels. This home was featured in the November 2008 issue of Log Home Design Magazine. Whether you are looking for an exciting, energetic High Country adventure or are wanting to enjoy the peaceful serenity of a mountain home for a while, Scarborough Fair fits the bill. Come enjoy, relax, and regenerate- you'll be glad you did! OFF-PEAK SPECIAL: Stay longer than the minimum number of nights and automatically receive a 5-15% Discount- Excluding Holidays. Please Note That This Property, Located at over 4100' Elevation, has NO Air Conditioning PET FEE: $25 PER PET PER NIGHT Mature, well-trained pets only, please. Dogs and cats welcome! This homeowner uses outdoor cameras to ensure their home remains safe and secure. No cameras are inside or aimed at doors, windows, or the hot tub.Más
