Me and my girlfriend and her mum had a lovely stay here. Everything was so clean and tidy and had a warm welcoming from trixi and the cats there. Saw monkeys and other animals during our stay at the property. Would defiantly go back!!!

We enjoyed our time at the house. The pool is lovely with a small waterfall and surrounded by natural vegetation. The property feels very private and opens up leaving a feeling of being right in the middle of nature. There is a very large and comfortable porch with a sitting area and hammock. The house has a handful of resident cats. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking. The wifi is spotty to note if you need to rely on it for work. The house is spacious and has large walk in showers. There are fans everywhere so there is always a nice airflow. Trixy manages the property and she is lovely. The house is a five minute walk to the bus stop and about an 8 minute walk to the beach. There is a local brewery two minutes down the road and several eateries close by. You can definitely enjoy your time here without a car if you enjoy walking. We would definitely stay here again.

We wanted so badly to like this place
We were so excited about this property and it was such a disappointment for us. Nature lovers will delight in the location, we were fortunate to see four beautiful scarlet macaws and lots of wildlife. Unfortunately, the wildlife is also inside the house as screens were either missing or broken, and we felt invaded by the creatures of the jungle to the point that we could not even sleep. We left after the first night, after trying our best to adapt. Trixie was the highlight of the experience and a true delight. Cubaya is a sweet village and the bakery is delicious. We hope that the owner will take the time to properly maintain the property because the potential is absolutely there. Unfortunately it did not work for our family.

Beautiful home and lovely host!
Our recent stay in Cabuya was the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. The home was absolutely beautiful and a much needed quiet break after our previous week in Tamarindo. It's convenient location just a few minutes from beaches and restaurants allowed us to explore during the day(Santa Teresa and Mal Pais were a favourite for day trips). The pool was wonderful for the kids on the days we spent relaxing at the house. Above all, I cannot say enough about our host Trixie. My son (and I) enjoyed chatting with her as she showed us around the property on "nature walks" (as my son called them)..even pointing out plants and animals (plucking a spider from a web so he could have a closer look before carefully placing it back). We did not want to leave and sincerely hope we are able to return one day!

Great place
Very well kept. Great spot to relax and see everything the area has to offer. Very helpful and and knowledgeable host on site. Would definitely recommend.
