The wi-fi code and instructions for the central heating can be found in the manual on the sideboard. If you have arrived by car, be sure to place the parking permit in your car windscreen to avoid any penalties when parking at the weekend.

Short walk to fabulous beach A lovely big old house with original sash windows converted into apartments Nice apartment with good views and good location for restaurants & pubs small shops, weekend market and the metro station to Newcastle and Whitley Bay. Very tiny kitchen and cold in winter, (as not big enough for radiator) okay for short breaks if not planning on cooking as we don't on holidays. But very well equipt Very spacious lounge/dining room and bedroom but don't forget to take your slippers as bare floorboards in both rooms. No problem with plenty of on street parking. Only downfall was upstairs neighbours are young couple with baby and could hear every movement from 6am On the whole the aparment is good and well equipt for short breaks to a beautiful part of the country

Collingwood House is in a quiet location with a view through trees to the river and South Shields beyond, yet only five minutes' walk from Front Street with its shops, bars and restaurants, and a similar distance from the Metro station. There are two flats available for rent here, one on the lower ground floor and one above it. We chose the latter as we thought it would be lighter and have better views, and on the whole we loved it! There is a very large sitting room with plenty of seating and dining space. The flat retains lots of original features and is decorated in a "shabby chic" fashion which suits the style of the building and its seaside location. There's a TV with free digital services, DVD player, iPod dock, loads of books and games for any kids you may have with you. The dining table is set in the bay window and enjoys the best river views, although in summer these are blocked in part by the trees across the road – nevertheless you can watch the river traffic (ferries, cargo ships, little fishing boats etc.) and soak up the sunshine (on a good day!) The one bedroom is also large and has the same great view. Storage space is reasonable but I found the bed a little softer than I usually like – it was fine for a week however and I slept well here for the most part, although we were woken rather early each day by the upstairs neighbours getting up around 6.00 AM to go to work – opt for the downstairs flat if this is likely to bother you. Having said that, the seagulls don’t make for the most tuneful of dawn choruses so you may be woken anyway! The bathroom has a bath with shower over and is a reasonable size. My only tiny gripe is that despite a claim on their website that they provide everything you might need, there was no soap or shower gel so we couldn’t really refresh after the long drive until we were able to go shopping for these in the nearby small Co-op supermarket. The kitchen is tiny – it’s OK for a holiday home but I wouldn't plan to do any serious cooking while here. On the plus side, it's very well supplied with crockery, glasses, cutlery etc. and has a dishwasher. We found the owners very helpful and responsive. When the wifi disappeared one morning they were quick to identify that the guest staying downstairs, where the router is located, had switched it off and they came round straight away, as she was out, to put it back on for us. And when my husband left his shaver charger behind they offered to post it back and wouldn’t take payment for the postage costs! There is plenty of on-street parking and the owners provide the permit that is needed at weekends. The flat wouldn’t be suitable for anyone unable to climb stairs as there is a flight of stone ones up to the front door.

Absolutely perfect location, 5 mins walk from Tynemouth Front Street with all the little shops and bars and a short walk to Tynemouth Priory. The street itself is so quiet and the flat has some views to the River Tyne. There's a lovely seafront walk, from the Priory, almost back to the front door. The flat is a lovely mix of old and new furniture and the bathroom has a great shower too! We had a lovely time, and for our teenage daughter it was perfect as we could nip into town on Metro to shops, Baltic and even took a trip to Beamish - plus there was WIFI too! Will definitely be back.

Lovely place good location but week days noise from 6am from flat above spok to venders nothing was done except an email saying they had never had complaints before so must be me that is wrong and I'm sure your stay will be fine ! That's if you get up before 6am on a weekday 😡

Excellent location, lovely flat, but could do with a little maintanence in the kitchen. Only downside was communication with owner, took several phone calls, emails and text messages before we got a response.

This apartment must be one of the best in Tynemouth. Collingwood House in Collingwood Terrace is in a prime position for visiting Tynemouth Village and the surrounding areas. The apartment has one of the best views of the Tyne River and overlooks a very well kept garden. The apartment is very spacious for two people and the pictures of the front/dining room does not give it justice for its size. It has everything you need for self catering accommodation that is just a short walk to the town and the fantastic beaches.

Tyneside is one of Britain's best kept secrets and deserves to be better known as a holiday destination and Collingwood House is the perfect place as a base from which to explore the area. We loved the near traffic free setting of the place and the novelty of watching the ships sail by as we sat dining in the bay window. .We were made very welcome by the owners who were very obliging and this added to our wonderful stay. A tip to visitors, leave the car parked up and and walk or use the excellent Metro light railway to explore the area

Collingwood House is a lovely apartment with very large lounge/dining room and bedroom which were really comfortable. Kitchen was small but with all mod cons.It is stylishly furnished and the owners were very welcoming and helpful. It is situated in a peaceful area overlooking the mouth of the river,with boats passing by in the daytime. Tynemouth is a great place to stay - we were really impressed with the unspoilt town and seafront, and there were lots of really interesting places to eat. Its a good base for exploring southern Northumberland

This is a great place to rent for a week or so in tynemouth. The location and views from the large windows in the living room and bedroom are stunning. Very clean and tidy. The kitchen and bathroom are very modern, and it's just over all a lovely space to be in as the rooms are very large and tastefully furnished. Its a lovely quiet spot and only 5 minutes walk to tynemouth village, and some scenic walks along the water are just across the road. There are some good toys/games for kids if needed. My only suggestion would possible be that a spare bed ie a fold up bed, be taken if you have children, as the main bedroom is very spacious and you could set up a spare bed in there instead of the living room sofa bed having to be used.
