The Retreat was glorious! LOVED the layout, decor, cleanliness and amenities. The pool was to die for and we spent hours in the cabana enjoying coffee in the early hours and cocktails later in the day. Beds were comfortable and we had all the amenities one could ask for. We sincerely appreciate all that you did to navigate the changing landscape of Covid to make it happen. Our 24 hr Quarantine was easy as Sunday sported a F1 racing event that glued our kids to the TV and allowed my husband and I to decompress after the stress of getting out of the US and into Nevis with all the Covid testing insanity. Activities that stood out included the awesome sail with Miles and Brian that included a snorkeling experience near St. Kitts and the Nevis peak hike. The sail was awesome- something we would do again in a heartbeat. Our 20-something y.o. children also put in a plug for the tasty rum punch! The Nevis peak adventure was certainly one we will never forget. Two nights before the hike it rained leading to extremely wet, slippery and muddy conditions. Arriving at the trail head our guide grouped us with a very friendly, enjoyable young Scotsmen who was training for Kilimanjaro! Needless to say, my husband and I were a bit out of our league! Regardless, we survived the 5+ hr slog and happily checked this off our bucket list, but admittedly our 20-something’s said they would do it again. A few restaurants that stood out included an incredible lunch and exploration of grounds at Golden Rock, a fun experience and fabulous food at Bananas and a final dinner decked out for the holiday season (including the bartender special drink of the day) at Montpellier plantations. Wow -well worth the drives sharing the roads with the goats, donkeys and cows! You have done an incredible job creating a beautiful retreat. Only suggestion for improvement would be a list of beaches to visit or places to walk and a local listing of places to buy groceries, wine, and necessities to provide to guests as it was hard to get this on line. We are grateful for the experience we had at your Retreat! Thank you from our family!

March 2020 was my family's second visit to The Retreat, our first being two years earlier. There are so many INCREDIBLY positive elements to staying there. First, the owner, Gareth, is sincerely vested in ensuring his guests have a memorable stay. From suggestions on food and wine, to spa treatments and professionally cooked meals, to updates made to the home, to convenient and economical driver's service, he proactively offers advice and recommendations that are 100% for the benefit of his guests. The timing and quality of Gareth's communications are impeccable. Second, the quality, amenities and aesthetics of the home itself are hands-down the best we have experienced (we book through VRBO three to six times a year and have done so for 10 years). The location and ocean/sunset views are mesmerizing. The amenities and finishes in the home are first-rate. The pool is remarkable!!! The grounds are spectacular. The bedding comfortable. The home is spotless. I find myself saying while there, "There is not one thing I would change if I owned this place". And finally, the people of Nevis are so nice and friendly, with excellent restaurants and local artisans. They truly want to serve their tourists/guests and it shows in every interaction. The island has much to offer and guests are welcomed to explore when and where they want. We will DEFINITELY be returning to The Retreat. It is a truly magical place. We have just returned from an extended stay at The Retreat in Nevis. Having traveled to Nevis for over 30 years, we have stayed at numerous properties but none compare to The Retreat. The staff, Sandra and Catherine worked diligently to keep the home sparkling clean. Steve, the property manager checked in frequently to address any needs we might have. Gareth, the property owner takes great pride in assuring that your stay is flawless. The home is very comfortable for a large group or family and includes many amenities found in a five star hotel. The property is quite frankly stunning. Finished to an incredibly high spec, with amazing AV and tech throughout. You'd struggle to find such a slick property anywhere in the world, let alone one on a tropical island! The property is set on a very quiet road and extremely private, so on your days spent by the pool you can expect total relaxation. The owner couldn't have been more helpful in getting us prepared for our trip and we felt completely cared for throughout with a great local experience manager who sorted everything we needed out locally from a private chef, snorkeling to dinner reservations. I especially loved being able to pre-order wine that was ready and waiting for us in the wine fridge when we arrived. A great selection available at great prices. Very nice touch. When can I book again?

The villa itself and surrounding pool / grounds are fantastic - you may not want to ever leave. The view to the water is drop-dead gorgeous. The house is large, clean and well maintained with lots of useful technology including music and high speed internet everywhere inside and out. The gym downstairs was a nice touch as well. On top of all of this Gareth and Steve (local manager) were fantastic hosts -- available around the clock as needed and full of great information and advice. We'll be back for sure!

We enjoyed our stay at The Retreat from April 13-23rd. Gareth the owner and property manager Steve were both easy to deal with and very helpful. Gareth is very quick to respond to any questions. The house is beautiful, well kept and spacious. It is located just above the four seasons golf course and is quiet and pleasant to unwind and relax at.. The pool and ocean views were beautiful and as previously stated in several reviews, the pictures do not do them justice. The house was well stocked with all needed kitchen supplies and bathrooms with plenty of towels and bathrobes. The Sonos system throughout house is wonderful and works all the lights, music blinds and thermostat. I especially enjoyed eating breakfast out on the upper porch over looking pool with ocean view while watching the hummingbirds and monkeys. We used a driver for the week. Highly recommend this. Hollywood was wonderful and very polite and friendly. The island of Nevis is quiet and beautiful without the hustle and bustle of cruise ships and constant peddlers. We enjoyed the beautiful beaches and dinners as well as breakfast at several old sugar plantations including Golden Rock and Hermitage Plantation. Sunshine’s and Limes was also enjoyable for lunch at the beach. But our favorite beaches were at The Yachtsman where they had nice loungers and great lunch. We also liked Cades beach and resteraunt I also highly recommend a personal power cat boat snorkel trip rather than Catamaran. We did both and the snorkel with private guide far surpassed the catarman trip. I highly recommend The Retreat. The house was everything it advertised to be and more, the transfers were all arranged and quite easy and the house is located high enough in the hills to enjoy the views and mountain ( hill) side of island and then short drive down to enjoy the beach. So you get the best Of both worlds.

The Retreat is just beautiful, inside and out. Our experience was that the Villa was very much like staying in a luxury hotel, along with the benefit of total privacy. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked , the view is amazing and there are several different outdoor areas where you can gather as a group or find a beautiful corner to for some quiet time. The owner, Gareth is extremely responsive and easy to deal with, as is the entire staff. I highly recommend The Retreat. We had a fabulous time and it really is as beautiful as it looks on the website. A very special place for sure.

We had the pleasure of staying at The Retreat for one week in April 2018. The house was fantastic, with all amenities as described on the website. The house is in a fantastic location, allowing for plenty of access to the island’s beauty. The owner, Gareth and the property manager, Steve were amazing hosts, and even helped to coordinate a rehearsal dinner at The Retreat for my son’s wedding. They were constantly available to us whenever we needed assistance and went above and beyond for the entire week. I would absolutely recommend staying at The Retreat, and would not hesitate to go again. Thank you for a brilliant experience.

Steve Tyson who met us when we arrived on Nevis was a wonderful host, and was very attentive to any requirements we had throughout the week. The house itself was beautiful, it will not disappoint! Kathy, the Chef was lovely and provided a top quality food and service.

A stunning property with a fantastic panoramic view, the web pictures don’t do it justice and a lush garden beautifully landscaped that is a delight to walk through & watch monkeys & hummingbirds etc. Breakfast, lunch or dinner on the terrace is a joy! Every comfort is catered for & there is also a very well equipped kitchen or for an extra special treat it can be arranged for a chef to come & cook dinner at the house, a fabulous experience & one we will remember. The quality of the surround sound system is sublime & adds to the ambience. It certainly is a retreat where you can unwind, swim, sunbathe etc as well as having easy access to other island activities & the beach. The feeling of space, light & freedom abound. A magical place to celebrate my Mum’s 80th. The owner Gareth & house manager Steve aim to make sure all your needs are met. Just switch to island time & relax. We would love to return.
